I'd buy it....tend to the major and the mechanics....gut the interior, put it on an extreme diet (a/c toss, smog gonzo, heat bye bye etc etc), forget the cosmetics, and track the sh** out of it!

I wouldn't pay more than 30K for it, Less would be better.

I wouldn't pay more than $25K for it now that I think about it more. However, I'm sure that's not going to happen unless the guy wants to dump it.

The owner of the shop said he had it sold twice and people never called him back....it was going down to Miami.....if anybody bought that car without looking at it and it showed up, they would have a heart attack.

Hey, at least I bought a LSD for my 968 the other day, so I can play around with that and have fun on the track this season!

Would they? The pictures seem to show the flaws pretty obviously.

Funny, I just picked up a warmed over 951 (with limited slip) as a DD/autox/track car, though I still plan to get the Ferrari out a couple of times this year.

Remember this and it applies to Ferraris that sell cheap and cost tons to fix up.

    Brave.

I love 355s, but I would rather drive it then have to do more than just regularly service the thing. This car really does scream 'need'.

I looked at this car I can tell you that they won't budge on the price. The owner, Jason became aggravated when I merely suggested that I was thinking about making an offer of 45K. He said the price is firm and he almost didm"t let me test drive it after that. I did drive it however. The engine sounded really good. It pulled strong, but felt like it was fish tailing a bit when I went on and off the gas. Possible worn suspension components. It is beaten up though. I called the owner of the car and he won't go down one dollar. I hope he sees what people think of his car, and the money people think it's worth. I would have over paid big time. Don't waste your time. These guys are in their own world.

Yeah, consensus is $25-30k, and I'm not what I'd consider a price pessimist. As I said, I think they could get $10k more than that if they spend a grand and some effort to clean up the glaring faults, but no way they get the ask unless they find a real sucker.

That's interesting....Jason couldn't even find the owner's phone number, and we ended up talking cars and dealerships for some time. I had a good time talking to him. He wants me to be his "Audi" guy....and I told him I have a real job.

So the though of getting this car for $25K - $30K will never happen. That's good to know.

At least I have a red Porsche!

Someone will not research it properly and pay it, guaranteed. That just means they're in for a rude awakening as a buyer. Or this could simply be the beginning of 355s being purchased by people who have no business buying a 355, making for a number of future rogues.

While I agree a sucker is born every day, no one is that stupid. A quick search of the net will show comparable cars in better condition for the same money. They are dreaming. I'll be shocked if they get $30k

    The muffler looks wrong

    Add for:
    manifolds
    Tubi
    Guides
    Major
    Interior
    Tires
    Brakes
    Battery
    Cosmetics
    Clutch
    Misc

With 38k miles pristine would be worth $49k, will need $30k, tells me the buy number is $20k tops

The muffler I think could be a Bell exhaust as they often use tips like those

I am thinking the word "Major" was attached to the word disaster and not service.
If it looks that bad on what you can see from a walk around, I dont think I want to guess what you cant see is ... any better.
It is sad ..... I dont have the DIY skills, and would be confused for months just figuring where to start.

My guess is the owner is lurking and pulled the car from the market.
