Wondering if anyone from Washington state recognizes this car. this is a pic from copart, before i bought it and fixed it. The car is mint , the kind of car owned by an enthusiast. I'd love to know the cars story, or more like why it was totaled, we fixed it for roughly $2000.00 Looks like they put it over a curb possibly. Its all fixed now and has a good home , but i'd love to get in contact with the last owner. last six of vin are 098090 washington state plate was AJC7587 Image Unavailable, Please Login
Does not look familiar to me. Looks like it needed wheels/tires and repair the front bumper. Was that the extent of it?
I have found that there is no logic to the salvage decisions of the various insurance companies. We all know the theory, but the application seems so discretionary.
That was about it. Also a left lower control arm. And a battery. The headlight was unplugged. plugged it in and that was fine too. I can tell a major was just done , but i'd still just love to talk to the last owner We fixed the car in 2 days.
Thanks....there is real hope for me now! I keep looking at the 348's and see that they are easily within my budget. Just need to get a good deal on one....don't mind one that needs work. But want a hardtop. Or a great deal on a 355 GTB that needs some work.
Some body probably said frame damage and that was that. Did you put the car on a frame machine and check the reference point? Was it straight?
i wasn't really ready , but i knew if i passed it up i would be kicking myself in the ass for years to come since it had such minor damage. I did lose some sleep tho from the time i bought it to the time it arrived, worrying that there was going to be some terrible unseen damage. Copart did show undercarriage pictures and i didn't see anything , so i kept asking myself why is it it totaled , what am i not seeing. then it got here and there was a big sigh of relief.
99% sure I know that car, met the guy a couple times and looked if over, definitely in exceptional condition. He's not on here and I wouldn't exactly call him an enthusiast however he did keep that thing in damn good shape while he owned it. I know he's had it for at least the past 4 years but other than that I don't know anything about it and unfortunately I don't have his contact info..
Washington state won't give me last owner info for privacy reasons of course , i have the plate number but don't know how to turn that into a name, other than bribing a wash. state cop. Any wash police out there that want to make a few bucks for running a plate? lol
