I don't think that there is a picture in this thread of my M1, so I should probably park one here. I have stock wheels as well but I like these Motorsport wheels.

I usually only have the info and pics of my cars in my owner's section thread. I realized this morning that I should probably put a pic of it here as this would be a proper place to share.

It is one of the best driving cars I've ever had. It was BMW Motorsports (not BMW GMBh) personal car for press and display. It's number 11 and as such, BMW Classic confirmed some special things with me about it. It was originally equipped with an all leather interior and may be the only such car with all leather from the factory. It also has some other special things, including the wheels. The blue paint is pretty special too.

A couple of mechanics and I have looked it over top to bottom several times and while it certainly has some slight patina (which I don't think that anyone should try to "correct") it has been very well maintained and is a spectacular car. Sometime in the next year I will do a proper service on it just so that I can reset the clock on it and make sure it's completely dialed in going forward.

I think that these cars have long been unappreciated for what they are and it's finally time that they are (slowly) starting to get their due. They're awesome.

I use my 25 year old E30 320i convertible every day of the year I possibly can. I did the same with E28 also, over two years, started every day even in winter.
They are very reliable, considering their age. Some things will break now and then but they are all cheap and very easy to replace - tons of DIY's available online.

I am really hooked on old BMWs, I cannot not have one. They are becoming that old that when you see another one on the road it is almost certain that the other guy is also an enthusiast and to me that brings a joy to the ownership. I almost lost my **** when I spotted another E30 convertible in exactly the same configuration as mine... Fun :)

Oh wow. Its beautiful. Those e50s really set it off. A set of turbo fans would look cool on it.

Sherpa, your car is beautiful! Personally I prefer the stock wheels, but really that's a minor detail. I love them in dark blue. Post more pictures of the car, when you can, please!

I have found a '03 BMW 325i 4-door that has sparked my interest. The only details I currently have is that the car is a one owner vehicle located in Austin with 170K miles with all current service records, automatic and is priced at $5K, would make for a great daily driver imho. Judging by the two exterior pictures posted the car is dark blue and what looks to be in pristine condition. I am trying to arrange a test drive and meet the seller and her nephew, a local fellow Miata owner, who is helping his elderly aunt sell it.

I would hold out, you should be able to find one with 60k less miles for around 6ish

I stumbled upon a 2-owner auto "Alpine White w/Beige interior" 2004 525i sedan at a local dealership that I will be testing tomorrow. Immaculate condition inside and out with only 85K on "the clock".

It would make a great "client shuttle".

While I got out of BMWs a few years back, I have used an E34 M5, E36 M3, E39 M5 and E60 M5 as my DD, driving each for 60k+ each. And, while not the fastest, the E34 M5 was the best of the bunch by far. Its superb build quality made the others look like a first generation Kia...I now drive a Porsche 991s as my DD; while the new M4 looks good, I will not go back to BMW until they put their cars on a diet...

Is that an E39 or an E60? Lovely smooth 6 cylinder engine in that.
