I drove her home today and I love this car!!! http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c160/texasmr2/texasmr2052/140125_0000_zpsaa005885.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c160/texasmr2/texasmr2052/140125_0002_zpsc0b3d1b2.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c160/texasmr2/texasmr2052/140125_0003_zps72d7af99.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c160/texasmr2/texasmr2052/140125_0001_zps6b957ed1.jpg
Congratulations!! It amazes me that this car is a 10+ year old design and it only looks slightly outdated, vs. the E-class and A6 of the same period that look dated today (especially the E-class). I was never a fan of the E60 when it came out, but I have been admiring its design lately.
Thank you all. I bounced around between BMW's (3 series and 5 series 4-doors) but there is something about the 5 series that has always appealed to me more. I am often required to shuttle clients and the Miata no longer fit the bill so I did it for myself but I also like to think/believe it was a wise choice from a business perspective. My mom drove it and one of the first things she said was "I'm driving this on my next gambling excursion to Louisiana!"
Hey! I was wondering which Bimmer had your name on it! Never an "if" - only a "when" - and the time is . . . now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
That looks really nice, well done. All you need now is a set of these; Image Unavailable, Please Login
I agree and I have already started thinking about new tires and rims. Is that your 5 and if so are those BMW rims? This will be the only upgrade I make to the car. Since I just started this new job I still need to go over my finances and expenses to see how much money I can set aside each month for the new rims and tires. I also do not know what affect this car will have on my insurance but it should not be too drastic as I already carry full coverage w/uninsured motorist protection. Later today I will go through the owners manual and CD so I can get a handle on the infotainment system. I also noticed a very faint shimmy in the steering wheel as if one of the front tires is out of balance but it would be unnoticeable to an untrained eye and is easily fixed.
No that's not my car, I just saved that photo a while back as I think those alloys suit it really well and thought if I was going to change my wheels I would search these out. This is my one; Image Unavailable, Please Login
Ah ok and yes those rims are sweet! What size is your 5 (engine wise)? I will be renewing my Silver subscription this week so I can post pictures and not these darn links. I think I will go see my dad this weekend in Conroe and treat him to dinner and I will get to see how she rides at cruising speeds. I LOVE THIS CAR!!!!
Mine is a 2litre diesel, 184BHP and 55MPG is I great combination for the high miles I do. Here's a nice shot of yours until you get your subscription Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thank you buddy I appreciate that!! I'll get some interior shots later as it is in great condition. After having to "somewhat" detail (non-professional) a few cars since I started I have noticed a few spots that were overlooked on mine. Since MOBILEJAY is at our shop on a weekly basis I'm going to ask him about detailing my car. I need to ask him for some pointers any way. Again thank you for the picture.
No problem, there great cars the E60. Just the right compromise between being refined but also feel sporty to throw around.
I have ALMOST figured out all the power options (power "do dads" sp) but the headrest adjust still alludes me! I have yet to figure out the seat memory or the rear window defroster as well. Other than these small issues todays traffic, too and from work was a dream, ie NO DAMN CLUTCH!! I definitely want to tint the windows though.
Renewed my Silver so here are a few more pictures of my 525i..hope you like them. The engine bay needs a good detail but overall she is purdy. My boss said he will give her the once over and we will change the oil and oil filter just to be safe. That right there is the last of the good ones. You have the "good" engine. Perhaps the best inline six cylinder engine ever built. The newer six with the valvetronic should have never left the drawing board.
As a BMW newbie it is great to know I made a good choice. I am a huge fan of I6's having owned a '95 SC300 with a Supra 2JZGTE swap, buttery smooth is the only way too describe them.
Had this for the day while mine was in for service, really surprised how good it was. 102hp turbo petrol ,surprisingly torquey. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Didn't know they made a 114. I have a 118i, and I love it. 4 cyl turbo petrol engine, too. Would love better throttle response, but all in all a great little car. RWD makes all the difference in the world in a small car...
I just noticed this thread. = ) I have two 88 ///M5's. I leased one for my company and bought one for myself that was tricked out by Dinan. Both brand new in 1988. 26 years later I still have both. =) One ///M5 has 71k on the clock and the Dinan has 27k on the clock. The E28 ///M5 is one of my all time favorite cars to drive. Just read my licence plate. lol Image Unavailable, Please Login
