458 Spider arrived today

I got tired of waiting to order a new one, and decided to look at the used market. My requirements were Rosso Corsa, Black Interior, Racing seats and Carbon Fiber interior. After a couple of weeks of searching, I found a 2013 Spider with 4K miles that was well optioned, struck a reasonable deal (below MSRP), and took delivery this morning. Given that it is Sunday, I can't get it registered until next week, so the only drive was a quick tour around the neighborhood and then into the garage until I get to the DMV.

Check out the 1947 Harley that rode down in the trailer with my 458, very clean looking and completely restored.

Thanks. The racing seats with alcantara inserts were a requirement for me. I would have loved it if they had the red leather stripe in the middle, but can live without it. It does have the red stitched cavallinos on the headrest as well. I can't wait to take it for a spirited drive to the coast and back next week with the top down.

Are you sure the is 13 and not a 12? Ferrri of Seattle had a very similar one with 4900 miles that was a 12 and just sold. Sounds like the same one as yours just the year stated doesn't match up?

It's a 2013, and yes it is from FoS, same one that you are thinking of. Very painless transaction.

The car was from Seattle, and I live in California. From what I was told the People's Republic of California doesn't allow out of state dealers to collect fees and put CA temporary tags on the vehicle when they sell into CA. So all the title paperwork was FedEx'd to my local DMV and I have to deal with them to register the car, pay my huge registration and tax bill and get temporary tags. Sounds like I'm in for a fun morning at DMV, wish me luck.

It still amazes me that people buy and then sell such a car, 2 years old (sorry, I'm not American, so for me the age is the time between first registration and today) and have not even managed to drive 5000 miles with it. Which is not even 50 miles per week... and even more than most!

Interesting? They will Fedex your pink slip to DMV? Was this a free and clear purchase? I.E. no lien holder?

I purchased my car with 5K miles from F dealer in Texas. I picked up my pink slip immediately. DMV told me I have 20 days to register my car from the date of purchase. I took my car to DMV a week later (shipped to CA) so they can verify that it is 50 state legal car then voila. Pay registration, sale tax and proof of passed smog test--done.

Get smog immediately.

I almost bought this car from FoS, but ended up snagging a new allocation just before Christmas that has almost identical spec as yours, but without the carbon fibre front wings, rear diffuser and B pillar. I liked the seats, kind of wish mine had them.

Very nice and very similar. I wouldn't have ordered all the exterior carbon fiber that came with my car, but I have to admit it does look cool up close. FoS was great to deal with for me.

I just registered another car 2 weeks ago. CA DMV told me I need to get smog test for all cars involve with transfer to title. Check with your local DMV as far as zoning (different county), some counties may be differ from others but I had to smog mine.
