Mclaren are making up for lost time. My biggest fear is that rb will be the fastest car out there again, in addition to the prettiest. Yes the Renault powertrain is having teething troubles but that's why we have testing.

On day 2 of testng this is your conclusion?

Wait for the season to start at least.

I quite like the unreliability to a point. Adds unpredictability for the season.

Slow? They haven't even done full throttle yet. Most are running at 2/3rd revs.

I can only agree with you that they are ugly. But it's ignorable.

Renault power units are having serious issues, none of them are running.

RB10 are exploring their 'high temperature' sidepod configuration for Malaysia, much larger sidepod venting at the back.

Given the fuel restrictions 2/3's may be what we're going to be seeing for most of the races.

....so the world is so short of fuel then lol! Fracking for all my friends. LH stated in an interview on SKY last night(when it was shown) saving fuel was part of the plan. Puzzling and troubling for the pinnacle of hybrid power sport I say lol! :)

Lets hope not. In any case, if it proves the case more fuel can be allowed to be given for 2015. The first year of complete reg overhaul normally has good fixes the next season...:)

McLaren's innovative rear suspension design has been the big technical talking point of the second day of 2014 Formula 1 testing at Jerez, writes AUTOSPORT technical expert Gary Anderson.

The team has attached a large aerodynamically-profiled 'blocker' to each of the rearmost suspension links.

This concept is designed both to give more downforce at low speed and reduce drag at high speed.

These blockers must be part of the suspension itself, but there is a very fine line between an independent shroud, which would be illegal, and something that is all one part and I'm sure that McLaren has ensured it complies with the rules.

This appears to meet all requirements of the regulations in terms of location and structure.

RB has cancelled the rest of the testing for today, Vettel flew home. My prediction: The Renault power unit will become RB's Achilles heel this season.

+1 serious problems with the Renault unit.

Mclaren's suspension is indeed legal, but there is quite a bit of discussion regarding the drag penalty such an arrangement costs, it's certainly not for free.

Here's the Mclaren suspension arms, they are per the rules almost symmetrical on either side with only a 5 degree variance allowed. This gets the diffuser working more, but at a drag cost which is not cheap.

Rosberg lapping in the 1:27s on just about full tanks per those trackside. He's banged out a bunch so far. Impressed

The Ferrari is going very well too.

I also question whether the Fia will allow it because they do move and they do aid the underfloor aerodynamically.

I could live with that considering they will pick up so much speed as the season goes on but 4-5 would be pretty embarrassing, IMO
