Stuck at the restaurant with open windows that won't close

    Hi guys, my friend is stuck at the restaurant with me on a rainy night in Montreal with the passenger windows stuck halfway open.

    The rear windows are closed but no longer work neither up or down. The passenger window is stuck halfway and the driver window is fine.

    It's an 85 QV convertible...does anyone know what the problem is?

    I'd cycle the switch up and down to see if you can get any downward movement, then help it up by hand if you can get any movement. I'd think they'd all be on the same fuse.

    What about the... "Emergency handle for window regulator (in the glove box)".

    This picture is from the QV Owner's Manual (Coupe shown), doesn't the Cab have the same capabilities?

    Check your fuses and wiggle all connections at the fuse panel!!

    It was the fuse after all, thank you for your help. That crank thing is very cool...luckily wasn't needed in this case.

    Would not surprise me in today's world. ;)

    Besides, when immediate help is needed for Ferraris, FerrariChat is 911 (like 112 or 113 in Italy).

    Actually, it was for a friend....we got to the restaurant and it's raining. He managed to close all windows except half the passenger side. He put a garbage bag on it and we came in for dinner.

    He was wondering what it could be so I told him I'd post it here and we would get free help quickly...and I was right!!! Fchat is great!!!

    Ok, more searching and I now know there is no rear overide and rear window failure is serious. I'm going to get my rear windows cleaned and fresh lubed asap!

    No over ride for rears, but a temporary Fix is to go to Lowes Hardware store, pick up an Acrylic sheet 28inch x 30in, cut and trim to keep you out of the rain (good for both sides). Make a template of the rear window and cut away. Tap the edges with electrical tape to give it a nice black trim look. The Cabrio has inlets built into the roof which makes it so easy to slide the glass right in and has a nice tight fitting into the rubber pillers. This will keep you out of the cold and rain for now until you get the rears sorted. Happy motoring!!!
