Indeed, but it has nothing to do with real privacy, since nobody would bother them any more or any less. And the forced silence obviously means bad news, so what's the purpose? That's what I don't understand. It only adds speculation, like the many pages on this thread... which I wouldn't doubt is pretty darn close to the reality. Oh well. Best of luck to the family. We'll find out sooner or later thru the news what happened. See you at the races in a few weeks.

Its just hard not to hear a word from the Doctors/family when he was such a larger than life figure. I agree with a few posters that complete silence = bad. Wish the family would let go a tidbit:(

Yes it is hard not hearing but just maybe for all we know he could be sitting up in bed now talking to his family, but just a quick update would be nice even if it is to say no change

Well, I keep looking at the news each and every day in the morning and disregards everything that is not true, established facts: speculation, comments, etc...
The truth is that the family has managed to keep the lid well closed for a week now: nothing has leaked; and this we must respect as their choice.

Secrecy on medical condition is usual here, you know, Andreas; we are accustomed to it.
Even if from time to time you would think that a short weekly update would be nice, and not harm privacy, they have decided there will be none, so what else is there to do than hope (and pray) ?

Medical secrecy is very important here as well, just it's not usually so well guarded from public eye when it comes to a celebrity.

That's one difference, John: anything private (be it medical or whatever) for celebrities here is even more protected than for an "average Joe". Some movie stars here in France do earn quite large sums of money by prosecuting each and every papparazzi that is infringing their privacy...(furthermore, when allocated by a jugement in court, it is even tax free...).

I wish we could have at least a short communiqué at regular intervals about MS state of health, but the family has not decided do do it.

    That is so wrong.

    +1

I find it odd that we are relegated to putting words like critical on a gold balance and disect the tea leaves of a sentence Kehm might or might not have said.

If it wasn't for the recent leak we wouldn't even know that MS is coming out of sedation, which at this point is so important.

Millions of fans around the world are worried about the health of MS. That deserves at least a small update occasionally. I'm pretty sure MS would see it that way as well. When he was injured with his broken leg after the British GP and everybody was wondering what was going on, he organized a live TV feed from his living room to the jumbo trons at the German GP to say hello to the fans and let them know he was ok.

Obviously this situation is different and I'm not looking for gory pictures of him in his current state, but a brief update at regular intervals would be adequate. It would also dampen the speculation.

What good does it do the schumacher family or Michael himself if we know more . I for one only care what is best for his wife and kids . The kids are going to have to move on with there lives not people around talking about what happened to there father we know his son was with him and some stories say his daughter they don't need relive it in print web or tv 24 7 .

Because prayer is very powerful and if the family comes out with news, that would help to prompt more prayer for him. Trust me, it works :)

I believe in prayer, too. To add, you can pray whenever you wish and should be doing so regardless of what is happening. You don't need a communique' from the hospital to initiate prayer :) Likewise, Michael's fans are not entitled to an update. His family wishes for silence and they are getting it.

    Hey guys & girls,

As most know, I'm always trying to send my best wishes, positive energy, prayers, whatever you call it his way. I have a few solid 'come on Michael!' thoughts at least every few waking hours. As I know many others do too.

Maybe I'm going crazy (before anyone else says it, maybe I already am ;) ), but I just had the strangest *positive* feeling come over me..... Been with me for a few hours now, but I'm almost certain something good is happening, right now!

Please, let's all focus for a few moments, pray, chant, meditate, positive vibes, but whatever works for you, send it his way. Thanks!

    Godspeed Michael,
    Ian

    Gentlemen,

A quick "update": still no news whatsoever, only an official denial by the Grenoble CHU about the rumor circulated yesterday afternoon on Twitter that MS was dead...the hospital has categorically denied it.

Andrea De Cesaris (Driver,) 7 February – Ciao Michael, what has remained with me is a memory from when you made your debut as my team-mate in the Jordan F1 car. My electronics engineer came up to me and asked why I wasn’t going flat through ‘Eau Rouge,’ one of the most difficult corners on the calendar. I asked why he wanted to know that after just one free practice session, as I wanted to get more confidence in the car at this fearsome corner and the answer was, “Michael’s taking it flat!” That was your Formula 1 debut. Now you have to tackle an equally difficult flat out challenge, but knowing your determination and your inner strength, I know you can do it. All the best Michael, hang in there. - See more at: #ForzaMichael! ? 7 February | Scuderia Ferrari

Don't worry about it mate. Michael has always been private when it comes to family issues. If they keep releasing statements every now and then, the press will start harassing his family. I believe once he's up and walking about, thats when we'll hear the next update. Other than that be prepared for 'stable' and 'no further updates'

    Ciao
