    It's very nice....

But I have some questions :
It's strange to see #90344 already with the assy 7319
And why, #90344 is with four nuts on the up to rear shock absorber ?
I have pict from the #89544's montage already with 6 nuts

Excuse my ignorance but rather than guess at what you mean can you be more specific.
    Thanks.

I can not locate your car # 90344 in the production of 348. It has the assy number 7319 and 4 screws on the upper rear shock mount.

    # 90377, although higher, with a lower assy 7139.

The modification of the rear shock assembly, # 89544 (assy 6444) already has the assembly with 2 extra screws and your, more recent, only 4 screws.

Maybe someone knows more than me about these and can give us an answer.

Hi David, My car is a my 91. I am not aware of the rear suspension mod before 92/93 onwards.
Don't know exactly when to the month. After having a quick read there seems to be some confusion over these assy numbers. As you say maybe someone can shine a light.
    Nick.

During the summer 91 (jul or aug), it's the modification to the rear frame with 6 screw instead 4 screw.
Approximately oct 91, it's the most important modification to the rear suspension : the fork of the lower rear triangle.
    It's some explications and pict : Evolution Suspensions Ferrari 348 - Ferrari 348 - F355 - Ferrarista - Ferrari Owners Only
And you can see the evolution to the fork (#21) on this page : http://www.eurospares.co.uk/partTable.asp?M=1&Mo=433&A=1&B=23682&S=

The last evolution is the transfer of the battery from rear to front during jan 92.

    #88872 (assy : 5564) : 4 screw old fork
    #89027 : 4 screw
    #89544 : 6 screw
    your #90344 (7319) : 4 screw and what fork ?
    #90377 (7139) : 6 screw
    #90635 (7569) : 6 screw and old fork
#91809 (8846) : 6 screw and the first I have see with the new fork
#92343 (9316) : the first I have see with the front battery
my #93317 (10242) : 6 screw, new fork and front battery

Hi David, Interesting info. Thanks. My car has the later type fork fitted. Of course these could have been fitted as an upgrade during the cars early life. Also when I ordered new lower shock absorber bushes they were wrong. For early cars they should be 42mm and the ones I needed were 35mm so a later upgraded shocker too? Probably. Interesting list here but no reference to the bolt fixings. Point 8 I presume to be the top rear arm fixed mounting point as the new rear lower bracket looks to have a hight increase.

Here are some of the improvements that were made during Ferrari 348 production:

    1. 05/30/91 differential side seal—production improvement
    2. 05/30/91 Bosch starter motor changed to Nippon—production improvement
    3. 10/10/91 cam seal housing modification—reduced oil leakage
    4. 10/10/91 double plate-clutch changed in favor of single-plate clutch—production improvement
    5. 10/10/91 new alignment specs—improved handling
    6. 10/10/91 improved mounting of front bonnet grill to address warpage
    7. 10/10/91 front suspension shocks and springs—production improvement
    8. 06/01/92 rear A-arm fix point height reduction—production improvement
    9. 06/01/92 Delco Alternator changed to Nippon—production improvement
    10. 08/18/92 door grills—improved strength
    11. 08/24/92 oil sump tank ground strap—improved gauge operation
    12. 11/03/92 front timing bearing—reduced noise
    13. 08/18/93 harmonic balancer replacement—reduced weight - added 2hp

    14. 08/20/93 clutch thrust bearing/slave—production improvement

It's a lot of modification during the production's time of the 348.
It's very difficult to know what and when this modification are mount on the car.

You say the Nippon alternator and the A-arm fix point height the 06/01/92.
My car (#93317) have the new A-arm fix point on the rear wheel but I have a Delco alternator ????
During 1993, I enjoy a gratis exchange to an Nippon alternator.

I thing the apparition of the single disc clutch is during the end of 1990.

Apparently it is important to have a horse on the fender...

IMO I do not want a "fake" Ferrari by mounting scuderia shields to the fender - My TB is not a Competizione, so I removed the embarrassing scuderia shields stickers the previous owner had put on the car, and placed a My Little Pony sticker instead...

First I had a pink pony but due to unfair and unjustified criticism I changed it to the very manly black edition as seen in the first photo....

Picked up a steal of a deal on a very forgotten 1990 348 TS Outside is not bad, mechanics are decent, Interior took a trip to the center of the sun. Seriously, I have never seen leather so bad in my life. Passenger seat is rock hard, broken all over. But it is good, it will allow me to have a great project car for a good while. 35k miles, Forest Lake, MN
