Hello, can anyone help me identify this cable and plug. One end is tied to the lead that connects to the coil on rearmost right-hand-side cylinder (cylinder 4?). The other end ends up in a bundle of wires under the left-hand-side throttle body (I think!). I can't seem to find any reasonable socket where this should be plugged in, or any other cable from which it may have disconnected. Ay ideas? Btw car is a 360 spider F1 RHD, and it runs fine.

Its kind of hard to tell from the picture but that looks like an injector connector to me with the little metal lock. I don't have a 360 to look at yet but it is being shipped to me right now. If it was here I'd go out and look. I'll go check out my 355. They seem to have very similar or identical wiring harnesses from what I've heard.

Could be an extra diagnostic socket..

Only things in there are the water temperature sensor, the connectors to the Variator valves, Knock sensors, and camshaft timing sensors. Perhaps an extra connector for an emissions component like air injection or the secondary air intake solenoid valve (US cars only).

Thanks. I'm still not sure what it is but I think it corresponds to the cable circled in red below in the wiring diagram in the users manual.

I agree, probably connector 31S, connected to secondary air valve on US cars.

Check if it is the connector to the vacuum solenoid that controls the exhaust bypass valves. Many aftermarket exhausts do not have valves and the connectors may have been unplugged.

Thanks, checked that, but that's not it - my exhaust is OEM and the solenoid valve is connected & working.

    +1

My dealer confirmed it's normal and all 360 Spiders here have this, no explanation why though..

I saw this the other day whilst looking for the engine number.. I thought I had unplugged something in the process to get to the number.. Been worrying bout it for the last two days!!! Now I'm a bit settled. Thanks
