    ok, now i understand more
so i think the 355hp are a good estimate of flywheel hp

as for the turbo engine, did it ever was in the car? any hp estimate for that one?

yes, the 5700 cc diablo engine has MUCH more torque and power

My QV has 352hp at the wheels, that even with the more restrictive muffler.

Was rumored over 600, boost almost 2 bar, remember EFI was young in 85, one of the largest injectors at that time was about 26 lb per hour and the computer to control them was the hand built and very large. If they could control the timing the motor would have survived much longer.

    exactly!
i think it is impossible a 400S with very minor mods make more than a 5200 lambo engine stock

so i do believe the 355 hp estimate are at the flywheel (that looks VERY correct to me)

Stefano, this date was already published in Rob Box/Richard Crump "History of Lamborghini"/Buyers Guide in 1974/1975.

It's mentioned with exactly the second Picture you posted.

I have talked with one of the shop employees that worked for Bob Wallace, he said it was very scary car and Bob had to tune the car with a small screw driver turning potentiometers sitting backward in the passenger seat while someone else drove, he said Bob got sick all the time.

    Hello Raymond,

It has already been pointed out, several messages ago, that I also reported that precise date in my books; I had forgot this, having written so much stuff about Lamborghini during all these years. Me and Mr Box and Crump clearly were informed that date by Lamborghini people at the time of writing.

What did surprise me was the fact that MIRA doesn't have any specific record of that date and I was therefore pleased to report that I found a precise date in one of those photos, that's all.

    Cheers from Paris (Retromobile...)

    Stefano

    Stefano,

I know you will smile when you see this pic of a lanky Bobby and the prototype LP400 (before it was green) circa 1973, filling up at Sant Agata on his way to the Monaco for the F1 weekend.

    Hope you are well.

Will it be possible after MIRA test that LP500 was stored somewhere for so many years and is waiting to be resurrected ?

intriguing, what did they reckon the flywheel figure was?
interested because my QV has at various times been measured at 405 (11 cylinders?), 445 (DCNF) and 465 (efi).

I have wondered what it would be like with a low pressure turbo/supercharger (have been told I'd need forged pistons for anything other than mild boost levels)

Of course then I'd need bigger brakes, which need bigger wheels etc etc....

397, but as mentioned this was with a very restrictive muffler and also the car was not tuned to it's top.
There are so many Parameters on a dyno that you can hardly compare figures.

    Neat video.
At 1:53, isn't that what shouldn't be done to cold Lambo engine? In Jay Leno's video of his Countach he mentioned the oil galleries are small so letting the oil come up to temp before reving the engine was important. Just saying. I'm not implying any damage was done, I just wasn't expecting that. It sounds nice which is probably why he couldn't resist with the crowd there.

What are the 'scatt' papers around the car?
Is this a unique car with the four lights across the bumper?

I can't really say for sure, but I can't imagine the Lamborghini factory installing them just for show. Wait, actually, I can!

Beautiful snowy winter to share! Waited 1 week to take the pic so we could see the car with some snow melted but did not want to wait because we get 1 foot of snow and ice again so that will get buried again for some times. I wonder how high the snow can accumulate on a countach wing. If we get lucky may be we’ll have an answer this week end. Enjoy! (sorry for the low res pict. my phone thru a dirty windshield)

Tell me that is a replica? Wheel base looks a little short but hard to tell.
