One of my favorite Miura pics is of a white Miura. I would like to recreate this shot one of these days. The Miura used for the recreation might not be a white one, and I had better use a different lady but I think the overall composition (including the reflection) is fantastic. So this must be 4830 then. it has the black wiper arms and the roof aerial as RYY 161 K does. I believe this pic was taken behind Portman Lamborghini's George St (London) premises when Barry Robinson had just purchased the car from Charlie Chong and thus it was still UK-registered CCC 1. This pic (as with most) has already been posted in this thread. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Pic I took in 1988 at Syon Park capturing no less than 3 RHD SVs in one shot! I believe I may have posted this earlier in the thread. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yes, very lucky guy! The white SV looks good in the magazine photos with the white sills but the gold sills and wheels give it that little something extra.
Is 806,720 Euros a record price for a P400S???? Rétromobile 2014 & Solo Alfa by Artcurial Motorcars - Sale N° 2400 - Lot N° 360 | Artcurial | Briest - Poulain - F. Tajan
This is not a record price, as one of my recently restored Miura S cars just sold for $1.2 mil. Gary Bobileff
Publicly, in an auction, the record for an SV is the prototype we used to own. Privately, its impossible to say. The most Ive privately sold an SV for last year was $1.5m. Within the last 30 days I privately sold the ex-Niki Lauda 288 GTO for $2m + and the ex-George Foreman F40 for $1.4m + and whilst some might think those are world-record amounts, who is to say that others haven't sold for more? There is simply no way of charting the highest private sale. I'd bet an SV has changed hands privately for over $2m.
You seem to know where all the UK SVs are, Stephen. Have you seen 4830 lately or know of its current whereabouts?
I think it is still with the Greek man with a RHD Daytona Spyder,it was going to auction a few years ago but was withdrawn ,I think it was Bonhams that had it but owner decided to keep,I was at Colin Clarke's workshop yesterday, he has 4 Miura in various stages of restoration but the star is going to be 4812 when finished, the ex Rod Stewart 4818 is in the workshop having a few things done for the new owner, he also had the ex Rob Walker/Stirling Moss SWB Ferrari there along with various Espada etc
Thanks. The sights you saw at Colin Clarke's workshop must have been better than any motor show. 4812, 4818, 2 other Miuras and SWB 2735 too!!! I'd have been overwhelmed. Looking forward very much to seeing SV 4812 and in its original colours. I've been besotted with that car since seeing and reading about in the Autocar magazine article Miura Memories in 1975 when owned by Ronald Stern.
Steven, I share your anticipation! An original livery lime green Miura SV is a special thing. Meanwhile I am praying that Jimmy will re-install the correct rear lamps! (if he hasn't already) Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thanks for posting the Miura Memories. Here's a pic of the colour part. Image Unavailable, Please Login
JD Classics in the UK have the RHD 5036 available as you probably know, and Talacrest recently sold 4818 (below), those are the recently advertised ones I'm aware of. I think the number achieved for 4818 was in the neighborhood of $2m, but I can't confirm that in any way. There are a number of SVs that are unadvertised that could be bought for the right amount, pursuant to an offline conversation. Image Unavailable, Please Login
^^^ Paint the wheels and sills gold, as the car was originally and it will be perfect. 4818 seems to have had a repositioning of the SV script too.
