    Haha! You're right!

I hired a car in Italy a couple of years ago and drove from Venice to Naples.
How that thing arrived in one piece I will never know.
My wife nearly died from multiple heart attacks in the first five minutes!

But, the hard bit wasn't driving from the left side of the car, it was driving on the right (wrong) side of the road!

    :)

The brushed inserts are bought separately and placed onto the black carbon sill.
Here are some that I have had for two years, that I still have not got around to fitting to my car with the black carbon sills. My other car has silver carbon sills with black carbon in fills.
The brushed inserts in the pictures are readily available in GB :)

Interesting how the dot over the "i" in the picture above is oval, I presume that's how they get away with avoiding trademark problems.

For the original question of alternatives in door sills, if you need a winter time project and have a vise and an angle grinder, you can replicate the sill panels fairly easily (google "Ferrari 348 Carbon Dip Door Sills" for video instructions). Then you can experiment with different finishes or colors. You could go with paint/clear coat, you could get someone to powder coat them, or if you're bold, you can try the dipping process as shown. There are a huge selection of dip finishes, from various colors of fake carbon fiber weave, to cammo... all sorts of stuff. Plus if you live in NJ there's nothing else to do with all this F%*#ing snow covering everything.

Look closer at the standard factory inserts, there are no dots only ovals :)
Have a look at the pictures Drbob101 http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/142211905-post32.html , and steve355F1s silver carbon inserts on page 1 of this thread.

Hmmm... the picture from Drbob looks like mine, which look pretty rectangular to me, but I guess everything is open for interpretation. The point of my poorly worded original comment was that the dot over the "i" is usually a rectangle in the official logo, but I think if you do a different shape from that your can avoid visits from Ferrari lawyers.

ROTFLMAO, like I care. That's the worst case of hair splitting I have ever read on a forum, and FC is bad for it. I could go a step further and say there not 90 degree cornered rectangles, but that would be an ever worse case of hair splitting ;) Though you do remember you called them "dots" and not dashes ,right? ;) LOL just pulling you leg :D
LoL Nice try though, it made me smile thanks:D
Now pm catpglen and buy some new sills for your self :D

I wouldn't say it's the worst, but it's up there with "Shield-Gate" which was/is breathtakingly pathetic.
We're not talking about 250GTOs here.

I haven't seen the Nouvalari sills but I'm sure they're awesome (as are all Nouvalari products!) I do have a set of Carbonio and can vouch for them, quality is stunning and fit is perfect. I put in stainless inserts and it looks superb.

Here are mine. If you don't like the carbon fiber look, you can always paint them and you'll still have the advantage of the weight of this material.
