Quick question. The check engine light came on in my 97 F355. The fault code is the air temp sensor and it's reading -40 degrees. I thought the sensor was located in the air cleaner housing but no sensor. Can someone tell me where this sensor is located? I thought I saw a note that indicated there is a sensor in the drivers mirror, but will that give the same fault code?
Car runs fine, but I would like to fix the issue. Any words of wisdom would be appreciated. Thanks

Is there one on the 2.7 cars?

I **think** (but defer to the professional techs), that on a 2.7 the temperature monitoring is done via the MAF.

See WSM pp C12 for the 2.7 cars.

The temp. sensor on the driver's side mirror is for the climate control. I cannot imagine they would also use it for the engine as it would not be a true/proper indication of the air temp. entering the engine. Might be close-ish but it wouldn't be the "proper" way to do it.
