Ed, your car really is gonna be a newsmaker if and when you decide to sell. You could get a lot of big publicity for it leading up to a sale. Do it, the price of ALL will spike more :D

Are you wanting a 2nd home? A vacation retreat in Tahoe or Aspen? That's where your car is. Just my opinion. A proper auction house (is there one? :D) will net you $3-500k - my guess. I will always talk valuation, I like that my money is parked in cars I love and they are making bank. I was active with all this in the late 80's early 90's too, seen and participated in the rise and fall once before. Have no idea about things now, but I do know the worldwide LOVE and respect by the car culture for 911's and 930's will always be there.

These porsche prices are stupid. Ridiculous archaic rear engined understearing technology. Cool looking but maybe not that cool.
I'm moving to Lambo! Way better sound anyway.
Porsches sound like lawn mowers or something...

Welcome, Ron. Lots of great information on the early 3.3 liter 930's here. You will find lots of folks on this site that are quite knowledgable on what was standard or optional for these years.

To answer your question - the item located between the sun visors is the tempeture pick-up for the automatic heating system that was standard on the 930.

and… I've got N. America's ONLY 1979 Porsche 930 with Lindsey Lohan's puke stain on the original factory green and purple tartan interior… yeah… And, it's on the passager seat not the door insert… I should be able to get at least 45K more for that right?
