Not feeling it in white :/ Needs proper pictures of a white car though.

I want to see it in black and also dark gray.

Wow. From this angle it has some the those long "sweeping" nose GT car looks of Ferrari and Maserati of the 60's.

Wow - it looks very different in white (and perhaps too from that particular angle). Very sharp.

The car is a definitive improvement over the first version, the front end is quite beautiful....but i liked the stack pipes...they where a singular feature of the california....

    Alas only an F 40...

Somewhere I have seen a picture of my grandfather watching his new Ferrari spider being unloaded from an old prop plane. It might have been a 250? At any rate, he got caught in a rain storm, put the top on, and discovered it leaked badly. He was so mad that he promptly sold it! 😳

At least that is how the story has been told to me...

Just talked to the dealer. They are waiting for allocations. No orders until then. But they will put you on the buy list now.

They say may be this year, not next. I think that's true because it's a modified CA 30 and not a clean sheet.

I was looking hard at a 2010 Nuovo Blu Pozzi/ Cuoio Cali last weekend. I never imagined I would fall in love with a Ferrari of this color. So much so that if I pull the trigger in the next few months it will be of the same color ext/int except with the matching blue carpet (suggested by the salesman and looked great in the configurator). I can't wait to see the car in more colors!

It's better, but still awkward looking.

    lol

I hadn't seen the F-Type next to these cars before, but it may be the handsomest of the lot. (And I really like the DB9, so it's a tough call...)

The only hardtop convertible that really looks 100% like a coupe is the BMW Z4. Best makeover in the last 20-30 years, maybe, compared to the original. Beautiful.

I also prefer the coupe, but the lines of the top are very fetching this time -- wasn't the case at all with any previous 911 cabriolet. (I had a 993 cab, and frankly the top looked like an aftermarket job.)

Agree -- I don't think the average man on the street would have any idea this is a new car. Even the 308-to-328 and TR-to-512TR transitions weren't apparent to the general public.

I suspect Ferrari didn't want to re-engineer the top, or change suppliers, so any body changes were pretty constrained.

People think 355's are "new" Ferraris. They don't see them that much and as long as they have modern styling, they couldn't tell one from another.

All that matters is if it looks good or not.

The changes are immediately noticeable and an improvement over the prior California. Like we are saying, however, these changes are obvious to us, because we study Ferraris. Another thing that I think most of us would agree on is that, based on the photos, it looks like a moderate evolution. With that said, I specifically asked the Ferrari associate who viewed the car back in November if it was an evolution (like 360 to 430) or a radical change. Without hesitation, he stated that it was a radical change. This is a man who knows Ferraris backwards and forwards! I wonder if the changes do not appear more significant when viewed in person? I can't wait to find out!

OMG a cupholder ! Love it, I wonder if those seats are standard or if the daytona seats will follow that configuration ?

Fwiw - I think those phrases are far too nebulous to have much meaning.

The 430 was, in many ways, a "radical change" from the 360 in terms of motor and transmission and body work and interior. Yet...most of us consider it a mid-life cycle update. I don't see this cali as much different "level of update" than the 360 to 430.

Before anyone replies - please keep in mind the 360 to 430 was a 20%+ HP increase, a whole new motor (going from 5 valves to 4 valves, and belts to chains), a dramatic improvement in the F1, loads of body panel changes and a very significant interior improvement. Then consider the cali changes...similar % HP increase, changed body panels and a somewhat different interior (far less interior change than 360 to 430 as far as I can see).

The Cali T is a mid cycle update to the underlying platform. Nicely done update I might add.

at 1:16, there is the answer to max rpm (if my eyes are working properly) = 8000 RPM redline

    (less than Macca...)

Pretty funny video - I mean, heck, if those guys say "great" and "fantastic" it must be so. No more to learn.

Not wild about the Black top (standard?). But not a deal killer. Can always wrap it a different color.

To me the "big change" between the 360 and the F430 was the motor and the Ediff. Of course they changed the interior but its still just an interior. They refreshed the front end and the back end. The side had some scoop changes but the roof was identical.

The CA-t will be pretty much the same formula. It's a CA 30 with a new motor, upgraded transmission, and some styling changes that make it more aggressive looking.

But I bet that motor is a screamer. It's got nearly the same power as the 458. Believe me -- that's a lot for street use. This is a DAILY DRIVER for heaven's sake. :)

Ferrari will charge extra to NOT paint it if you want. :)

    I agree -- don't like black top.

Rob will not have to change the title of the California forum unless he just wants to add the T. ;)
