F Spider, your current C8 is a Karmann widebody, correct? A bit off topic, but I've been wondering, how capable are Spyker C8s when it comes to deliberate oversteer such as powerslides and drifts around corners? Is it relatively manageable to drift a C8 around a turn without spinning out?
Dragonfly, That has more to do with driver skill then the car. The car certainly has the power. Thanks Brad
Certainly, that is true. But cars such as a Carrera GT or Ferrari F40, for example, generally require considerably more skill to oversteer successfully around a corner than, say, an E39 M5, E92 M3, or C63 AMG. I was just wondering if F Spider has attempted it, where the C8 lies in regard to necessary skill level when it comes to managing deliberate oversteer.
I have driven all of those cars mentioned and the C8. I would liken it to the same difficulty as an R8, 360 or 430 (some may argue those are not the same, but oh well). Certainly not as balanced in a drift as a BMW and not as torque-monster-ish as the C63 (few things are! lol).
I guess I'll argue. The R8, 360 and 430 are all 500LB heavier than the C8, and the C8 has no electronic driver aids. Getting it sideways with all the torque is easy, but I'm not good enough to confidently go around drifting.... The fully adjustable suspension also makes a huge difference. My current Spyker is set up so much better than my previous one. But in the end it is a SWB car and drives as such. I suspect you drove the LWB C8 (double 12, or Aileron), which is much less raw, and closer to the other cars.
Correct, LWB version! thanks for clarifying! BTW, the other cars had driver aids turned off (at least as off as the car will let you!). And this was on track. (used to be lead instructor for a driving experience in SoCal).

Hair dresser = convertible car having a convertible in the uk is the most pointless thing ever, you get to "drop the roof" for maybe 2 weeks max IF we get decent weather! Same thing with AC, there's no point having it on UK cars! the hair dresser thing relates to being a bit of a poser/show off, you'd be classed as normal in Miami etc, just not in the UK where its cold and miserable!
50% done with my the garage drawing.. should get it complete this week, and by next month start to build it. very exited.. should be about 8.5 x 12 meters. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Not a true "garage" pic, but I'm sure others will appreciate the wow factor! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Now THAT is a collection to aspire to! I love the concept of the lounge area to sit and admire your cars.
