    Nice photos but may I suggest comparing the 2 cars side-by-side instead? It's much easier on the eyes. :)

    Biggest change is the fuel consumption and emissions improvements and (likely) increased responsiveness at more rpm's due to the huge torque. The future is clearly depicted here. Plus the sheet metal of course. Nicely done mid-life-cycle update.

    thanks for that Michael. didn't someone say the T was "3 inches longer" than the original. looks like 0.3 in longer! I'm also impressed by the improved fuel economy and don't mind saying this even though I will be ridiculed for it.

    Fuel consumption much better. Must be the Turbo. They haven't said anything about cylinder deactivation.

    Torque numbers are just awesome.

    Rental outfit in Nice I usually get my vacation cars from,has one coming at the end of June.
    Renting it for couple weeks in July.......

    I love the new specs .. THe torque will make it seem a world part from the current car.. regarding fuel mileage I think real world mileage will fall significantly to those published since most people will have a hard time not getting their foot in it (i know I will) the turbos do a great job of publishing great fuel mileage not so in delivering ... due to above...

    Well, that's very convenient. I'll see when the local dealer is expecting theirs but I'm almost certain I'll be reading your reviews before I get my hands on one. I trust you're familiar with the Cali30 and that you'll have time to take notes and photos.

    I would think the turbo would be a large factor, but other factors would be the engine size, smaller, and cams would be milder, (better for mileage at lower RPM) in a turbo motor.

    It will be interesting to see the engine compression ratio and how much boost pressure is used.

    How long will it be before the aftermarket offers a higher HP, raising the boost pressure, as a HP increase.

    Won't be long at all. The big question in any aftermarket hp increase will be the capability of the DCT to handle additional torque and HP. I had modded a manual transmission 997TT to a mild 650 hp :) on pump gas. This car with the original Metzger Gt-1 engine block was bullet proof. There were many modded twin turbos like mine with some getting near 900 hp on stock internals, upgraded turbos and intercoolers and beefier clutches. As soon as PDK arrived (Porsche's Dual Clutch) on the newer DFI engines many tuners were initially worried about going beyond 700HP (still immensely powerful). Not sure where we are in the tuners arms race on the latest Turbo S with PDK.

    So I think we will see some initial mild aftermarket softronic ECU upgrades (10 to 15% gain) to perhaps close to 600 hp on the T. I sure as he'll wouldn't want to stress that transmission.

    Finally, having had a street car that was Veyron fast, which is stupid fast, I can't see myself really needing anything that palm-sweating on the street anymore.

    Had the Cali30 as rental 3 times,total about 1200 miles so I'm anxious to drive the new one to compare.
