I have the state inspections due on my Rolls-Royce, and 308. Does anyone have any recommendations for a state inspection facility in the Addison or Plano area? Last time I took my 308 to be state inspected the driver door handle was broken, so I would like to find someone careful around classic cars.

    Thanks,
    Chris Williams

Texas...register the cars as antiques. No inspection. Need only rear plate. Registration is cheap and lasts 5 years. Cars have to be 89 and older IIRC to qualify.

Contact Harry at the Preston/Spring Creek Kwik Kar. Hes part owner, I've known the guy for 15 years. If it wasn't Harry's shop I normally wouldn't recommend a Kwik Kar, but hes definitely very respectful of others cars, and quite an honest individual.

His number is: 972-904-3817. Tell him Shane sent you.

RAC sent me to the Quick-Lube just North of Parker on Midway.

The advantage of them for your Rolls-Royce is that they can do a non-OBD3 car, which many inspection stations cannot.

I took my 328 there 3 years ago when it required the emissions test (no longer thankfully) and they did a great job. Very familiar with many cars (also doing a Gallardo at the time), drove it respectfully and didn't leave any dirt behind anywhere.

Maybe you mean OBD2. To my knowledge, OBD3 was an evolution of OBD2 that never came into existence.

There is a Car Spa at the corner of Frankfort and Coit. I have taken a couple of F cars there and they are really pretty good. They were the ones that told me about the traction control setting on the state machine that eliminates the need for the "roller" part of the test. Efficient, good and respectful of your machinery.

    Inspections Only - Plano

I use these guys all the time.

    1. They only do inspections, so wait time is low
    2. They only do inspections, so they wil not try to sell you other things they think you
    need fixing...
