Been round in circles over years dipping in and out of the Ferrari brand and have now decided to stick with the brand that always puts a smile on my face !

I recently bought an FF and love it, you certainly forget that you have 2 decent seats in the back!

Anyway, the new company for the FF.

I'm thinking about buying a 458 Speciale or an F12.

My financial side says Speciale because it might be the last non turbo v8, and I'd keep it for a considerable period of time, I'd option it exactly as I want.

Or I buy a 12 month old F12 when and if the market softens and wait for the 458 replacement. I just wonder if the F12 will feel different enough compared to the F12, whereas the Speciale is obviously very different.

I think the Speciale would feel more..special if you already have a front engine V12. And as you said, that one might be the last NA mide engined V8 for a while/forever so spec one as you dream of and enjoy!

I suggest that you consider the car that is most different from the FF: the 458. The dynamics of the FF are more similar to the F12 than the 458. In a sense the F12 is a hopped up, smaller FF without the front wheel drive technology package. The 458 is more like a racing bike, less refined than the FF, has a completely different configuration, and sound. Whether you want to go all the way to the more raw Speciale is up to you.

I have an FF and a Scud. For me, this is a great combination. They are extremely different cars, and having them both results in me enjoying each of them more. When I go from the FF to the Scud, I appreciate all over again the razor sharp response of the Scud and I realize how much I really enjoy the more raw aspects of it. When I go from the Scud to the FF, I realize again how incredible it is that Ferrari made a super performing and most importantly, exciting, car that is actually a very usable daily driver. Without the contrast of these two cars, I don't think I would enjoy either as much. So for me, an FF and a Speciale would be the right combination. Having said that, I would certainly love to have an F12, I just would not trade the Scud for it.

Agree with the others. Look at the V8. As to the last of the this or that, don't bother with that. The cars will all depreciate. Just get what makes you happiest.

Yes, a nice idea also. Go for the differences! The neat thing about Ferraris is that the various models can be very different in spirit and feel but all excite passion.

You should get a 458 Spider. It complements perfectly my bianco avus FF:

    Indeed :)
I certainly can say FF gives best experiences among all cars I had.
F12 scares me too much to drive like I stole it and for that, it gives me a thrill.

FF & F12. Add a 599 GTO and you have the perfect garage.

FF and GTO are a very good combination. The GTO is an amazing car and can hardly top it. Have not driven the Speciale yet but cant imagine that it would be better.

You guys dont make the decision any easier!!

The way I look at it is like this:

I can buy an F12 any day of the week, there are going to be plenty. The FF provides me with the V12 sound I love, I still cannot believe the pace of the thing, it caught me out the other day and forgot about the weight I was throwing down the road, heavy braking with ABS engaged on a bumpy road in the wet!! But it remained perfectly stable and transitioned effortlessly into the approaching corner. Anyway back to the subject.

The Speciale is obviously the last of a breed, I do love mid engined cars so ill go for the Speciale and order exactly what I really want.

The spec is the next problem!!

I agree with your thought process. You are also going for more variety which I think is a good thing.

Nothing beats a pair of Ferrari V12s, except maybe a trio. But let us not quibble over which V12s.... as long as one is an FF for those long distance foul weather trips.
