Just an update...Yup, got the car home last Monday, paid for, bill of sale and current registration in hand. I had it flatbedded from the muffler shop, where they cut out the cat converters and welded in straight pipes. In the past week I have replaced the 6 lh spark plugs, ( see prev post thread..), checked the air flow plate and charged up the battery. Also uncovered the fuse/relay box and crawled over the car with a flashlight just "looking"...remembered a post from Sam M about jump wires on the fuel relay socket, gonna do that so I can hear the pumps kick in for the first crank it up at home, hopefully sometime this week.
Started a list of stuff to do, first is get it running, stay tuned....Thanks !

What's the explanation for the right hand bank producing worse leakdown results than the left?

    No jumping required!
Just unplug the 2-wire connector from the left air metering device (fuel distributor) & turn the key on. The switch inside is normally open & closes the circuit when the air flow plate lifts (which kicks the fuel pumps on).
This pic shows the blue connector below the black conveyor on the right side (which isn't used, only the left side is used).

Update....as stated..6 new NGK's in the left bank, removed air boot and wiped the air flow sensor area clean, I could pull up the disc with my finger nails, it was moving free, reinstalled rubber air boot and cranked over engine....started right away, but within 10-15 seconds of running it was a rough idle and smell of fuel, way too rich. Ign off.
It was better than before when I had a clogged cat convertor, (at that time the engine would not even keep running), those both have been removed, but still runs super rich.....removed 6 plugs, cleaned and reinstalled, and removed connector on cold start injector...maybe getting signal to fire ? it really should not, I am in Florida and garage is 70 degrees F daytime, 50-60 F at nite...but, I have to try something different each time I start the engine, right ? Same result, way too rich. I have the mixture adjust tool, (a guy at work had one from when his father foreclosed on a house in Miami and there was a 400 in the garage), is the adjustment similar too a carb ? Is there a bottom stop ? I know it is left-lean, right-rich, is there a stock setting to start from ? or is this a very fine adjustment meant to be used for final rpm adj and would never affect the total fuel delivery system as I am trying to change it ?
Sorry, too many questions....I will also add that this car was at a Rover/Jag shop for 6 weeks before I closed the deal and the fuel dist on the left side is much cleaner than the right side, (which runs fine), so did that shop take it apart and screw it up ? Remember, I had a totally blocked lh cat conv...is this "cause & symptom" ?

Thanks, I will take any ideas you guys can come up with, what can I test next ?

Don't play with the settings, they were OK before it stopped running properly. Assuming you have ignition on that bank, the culprit is likely the warm up regulator (WUR), You need a set of fuel injection pressure gauges to be sure. The WUR can be rebuilt - Larry Fletcher CIS Flotech is "the man"
