So I figured this would be the right place to add to the list of rumors surrounding the Limited Edition LaFerrari that apparently is in development. I have found a few tidbits of information to date and I was hoping that a few Maranello insiders might be able to furnish some more...

Here is what little I have found suggested:

    -Limited Edition of 10 cars
    -A more aggressive HY-KERS system
-An early design concept that had mass appeal inside Ferrari (distinct design variations from LaFerrari)
-A goal weight under 2,200 lbs
    -Horsepower north of 1000bhp
-A price range of 4m-7m US

That's about all I've been able to track down as of this posting. Can anyone in the community bring more details to bear? Any additional specs are most appreciated.

I sure hope it is. I wonder if they plan an FXX-esque run for track clients with the LaFerrari as well? Both would be my preference. Ha ha.

I understand from an excellent factory source there will be an FXX evolution of some kind

Ferrari did say that they saved an alternate body design for the LaFerrari.

My understanding is that if they do the limited edition LaFerrari variant it will be street legal and of course the competitione versions would be track only version a la the FXX / 599XX. I have a feeling it will be the same type of track only program where they hold your track car in reserve for you and then deliver it to pre-arranged track sessions. I think the information they gleaned from the FXX/599XX programs for future models is a strategy they will continue to repeat for the foreseeable future. I can't really blame them though as it is an invaluable way to gather and protect proprietary performance statistics.

Given how much money they make on them, I imagine Ferrari are already designing some "one off" SP cars based on the LaFerrari

Shame that weight figure wasn't a goal set for the standard car.

    V12 HY-KERS & 2200lbs? Seems optimistic.

Very curious how it'll look. The standard car looks great already.
(This and the 458 are the best looking modern Ferrari IMHO.)

That was the goal for the standard car. The special Millechile project was dedicated to keeping the weight under 1000kg (approx 2200lbs). But the lightest they can get to was about 2800lbs(some say final car 3000lbs+). Still 200lbs lighter than P1 and 500lbs lighter than 918.

Forgot that was the original goal for Millechile.

Still, shame it wasn't achieved for the LaF.

It'll be the XX version then, and it'll probably be around 30 cars instead. Rest of the numbers make sense, except for price range. That'll be ~30-40% more than a standard LaF.

I seem to recall the factory saying that there wasn't going to be a special edition 458 as well! ;)
