    Dom,
There are so many great places for a photo shoot here, bridges, causeways, Atlantic City, beach side roads. Ill scope out a handful of good places over the next 4 months

How I tease Lambo owners: "How many F1 world championships has Lamborghini won again? Oh, THAT'S RIGHT, Lamborghini doesn't RACE in F1!"

BTW, Daytona. Wow. Because Daytona. You are a god to me.

    Cheers,

    Geo

I believe Lamborghini has been racing Gallardo's on the European single series Lamborghini Blancpain series these last few years, not really comparable in any way shape or form to certainly Ferrari's, Maserati's, Alfa's, Lancia's or even Fiat's racing heritage.

My exact words the first time I drove onto the high banking...

My fixed-mount GoPro doesn't fully illustrate how steep the banking is. NASCAR's Gyrocam shows it much better...

Barry, this photo of your Maranello on the Daytona banking took me back over 50 years; I was living in Paris doing graduate law studies at the Institut de Droit Compare, rue St Guillaume. I lost my mind, scratched together all the money I could and bought a new Porsche 356b Super 90 coupe (cost: $3,300.), took train to Stuttgart, factory tour, lunch in the factory cafeteria and a long drive back to Paris, 5:30 AM arrival rue de Grenelle where my fiancée lived with her mom, threw pebbles against her window, she dressed, came down and we drove to the Autodrome at Linas-Montlhery and straight onto the track (I had an FIA int'l license issued by the RAC in London).

Now the reminder, Montlhery has a one-mile banked oval shorter of course than Daytona but the bankings are parabolic, i.e. they get steeper as you near the top, and where you sit depends entirely on your speed. My little Super 90 had a max not quite at 110 (no guys, I was not exceeding run-in revs). Later when the car was run-in, driving the banks was at first a weird experience, your location on the wall depended entirely on your speed - go in at 100kph and you're at such a place, on the throttle and the car gently slid up the banking till it found its correct location at whatever the speed, off the throttle and the car gently slid down the 'wall'. And you could drive the entire banked curve with hands off the wheel. Weird. Wish I still had that lovely little car!

Smooth! Until you actually drive on a high banked track, you cannot fully appreciation just how steep it is.
