    there could be plethora of reasons for the check engine light to stay on....i suggest you first do a search here on Fchat for the various reasons it could be lighted up and secondly you must get it checked with the right diagnostic scanner at whichever workshop which has one....where have you been servicing your car before this?

    a lot of the cars are there for lube service and belt changes as well....that doesn't mean anything is broken.....348s and 355s need their engines removed for a (a pair in the 348) cam belt change which can be done in a couple of hours in a normal car......
    the cars pile up at NI because they just have that much of volume to handle.....

    Oh man. Don't we hate it?

    I would suggest to quickly visit Naza, EM or many others in Sunway that svcs Ferrari. They'll plug in & see what's the issue with that fault code. On older cars, these are usually dirty or faulty sensors, wiring but could be for real.

    If you want quality exhausts like Larini, tubi etc, most likely you'll need to indent it as no dealer will keep ready stocks due to low volume but either of those will hit you at Rm10K easily & underdeclared ;) I did a custom mufller+pipings with Everco in Sunway that costed me about Rm5-6K? Can't quite remember but workmanship is top-notch though sound is a little bassy on V12.

    Wheels & tyres, most Malaysians with exotics go Singapore to shop for the rubbers being cheaper there.

    Wow. Didn't know they allow us to bring in our own parts! I should've sent there then. I've calculated & spent a grand total of over Rm50K just on the maintenance on my 456 over 2.5~3yrs with EM & the car was already in tip-top condition. I've visited Naza several times & their workshop is indeed filled to the brim with anything from the 80s to latest models so they are really busy.

    Klang Valley flatbed service : 0163434346 & 0128298233

    I'm not affliliated with either but used one of them before. Think I got their nos when they were in Sepang transporting race cars back then.

    Oh mate. Now I remember on my ex 360CS. I saw the same engine light came on once in a while then finally had some power cut-off running on halfbank occassionally & the CAT light came on & off.

    Yes, the header cracked which sent wrong signal to O2 sensor generating too much petrol resulting in unburnt fuel flowing through the exhaust & a molten red CAT. It'll burn your car if there's a leak. So, please put the car on hoist & run a smoke test etc. as 355, 360 & 430 have a reputation for cracked headers. Otherwise, just plug it into their analyser & they might see something within 15mins.

    EM took out the header & sent to 3rd party for welding job, total bill was just Rm600. The problem is the headers have a heatshield so we can't see any cracks with visual inspection. Run a search in Fchat & learn how to do the smoke test. I basically bought a pack of joss-sticks, burn them & stuffed them into one tailpipe while using wet cloth to block the rest. Wait for 10mins & see if any smoke leaks under the engine.

    Mike, did you buy the blue 550 from KokHo? Please tell me you did :)

    I must admit that i went for a test drive but the car had power cut-off while doing corners which he said was due to fuel starvation below half tank?! So I asked everybody & it's nonsense but it's most likely some fuel pump/dirty filters/tank issue. Otherwise the car is lovely.

    Thanks for the info guys. Yes I bought the blue one from kokho hehe. The fuel pump has been replaced and awaiting a new radiator and oil cooler to be put in. Jon, that probably is the cause of the power cut. I did get one time slow down flashing for about few seconds and disappeared. Smell of gasoline at the rear of the car, exhaust area, any idea?

    Regards

    Michael

    congrates on the purchase mate......you can't go wrong on a 550 i think......had a lap in drjeeva's 550 at sepang last weekend and the thrust on the straights was so freaking effortless......just be careful in standstill traffic.....it will overheat....the engine continuously needs air going through it......besides that the 550 guys will vouch for it and is really a reliable car....so mate don't worry too much about flatbeds!!!

    Just an update on the warning light issue on my 360. Dropped by EM this morning, plugged in the diagnostics, scanned however revealed no errors. Tried to reset the warning like but unsuccessful. Was advised to remove the battery to reset the warning light. Will try NI next. Hopefully nothing major, fingers crossed!

    P/s: he did mention something about possibility the fault being the exhaust censor..hmm..

    more often than not (based on purely what i have read) it is the exhaust sensor....however wouldn't that come up on the diagnostic scanner? did they remove the battery and reconnect it to reset it?

    Thanks for the contact, will go consult them. I see all of you guys had a good time last weekend. I missed the once in a lifetime opportunity.

    Good to see the Bolehland forum getting active lately. We need to share more info here. Bikz I have yet to give the blue lady a full workout since a few parts are still not put in place.

    Hakimi the black mondial looks stunning.

    Guys,

    Read the Star's pullout, "Automania" yesterday.....the total count on the parade was 160 cars......it's a pity they (the organisers) didn't call the Book of Records officials because either :

    a) didn't expect such a turnout;
    b) didn't bother to call them;
    c) thought breaking the Malaysian Record wasn't a goal worthy, the world record stands at 964 at Silverstone's second being at Japan at 490 set in Japan in 2008.....

    Actually if the claim of cars having had come from Sing, Thailand and China is true, I think we could have easily hit second spot if they had tried....maybe logistics and the cost to carry out such a feat just wasn't worth it......

    even if they just informed earlier that day and made sure the many cars on Sunday itself didn't leave earlier, we could have perhaps hit 200?

    Fantastic mate! Congratualtions & thanks for taking the misery out of me :D :D :D

    I was following this car for many years but it came up at the wrong time. Will have to hide the car away from wife, u know what I mean :p & was telling all my friends to go pick it up!

    I think you should let them flush the fuel tank because the previous owner hardly pushes it so might have a lot of dirt in it, then just swap the filters & pumps along for happy motoring. Yes, I noticed the slow-down light too & it'll eventually catch up on something (something scary about these older V12s)

    As for the fuel smell, it's probably running a little rich or have them check all the seals on the fuel lines & fuel cap as catching fire is the last thing we want & it does happen! After the car is properly set up then send it for a good tuning even though it's claimed that DMS did something but it's too many years ago.

    You have a very special car. Blue Lemans is rarer than Tdf although it's darker & yours is one of the rare few that's factory equppied with the handling kit.

    Well, you know who to call when you're bored with it :D
