I'm going to make an early prediction here: Massa is going to outscore one of the Ferrari drivers.
I know you are not a betting man, but anybody willing to stand behind that got my offer to bet against it. Massa will be lucky if he collects a few points.
Then you and I will be laughing at the end of the season. That double points finale will play right into seb's hands. The car will have trouble in the beginning but they will work it out and it's a looooong season. The press crowing about rb's problems will only inspire newey.
I dont think the RB is the problem, the Renault is. And Newey can do little about that. Otherwise Seb would already be a 5 times WDC.
Ermm my thoughts also, maybe a case of what he is hoping rather than what he really thinks will happen, heart ruling head. Alonso leading the poll now, well it is not a big stretch for that to happen, still it's great to speculate, it does seem the field has been leveled somewhat. The smart money has to go on proven quick drivers in this case IMO.
They will but not this year. The window to change the engine has closed and so they'll watch helplessly. Once RB/Seb have been dethroned and people are coming back to their TV sets, the FIA will allow Renault to tinker with the engine again. I expect that to happen Q3 this year. So 2015 will be all about the comeback kid. Thus guaranteeing two seasons "packed with drama".
If that were the case then Caterham would not have put down so many more laps. Red Bull packaged the car entirely wrong for it's cooling requirements. That and the Renault unit is seriously down on power compared to anyone else. Vettel will leave RB this year and I believe he will be with mclaren next year for their renewed Honda effort. Mclaren will have a rebirth in every way.
Whoa! Interesting thoughts right there. I doubt that will happen but wouldn't bet against it. It just might. I'd be more disappointed not to see him at Ferrari, but hey, he is still young.
Williams has a more reliable car than ferrari. I suspect at least for the first half of the season Williams and Ferrari to be neck and neck. Ferrari will out develop them in the end and really get their hands around their power train. Circuits like China and Monza and Spa, those will all be Mercedes engined dominated races regardless.
I believe Button is in his last year. He is now engaged and I have heard him say in the past that he did not want to have a family and be a racing driver simultaneously. Swapping to Honda will be tricky too, the timing is right to put down the gloves.
I think that Button will continue. His driving is as sharp as ever and he is a very popular driver in Japan. He will stay on with McLaren Honda especially if the car is competitive.
Could be right about Vettel, however Mclaren Merc and Ferrari could be after him. Tricky to say who will get him, but Ferrari I'd say are favorite, all of them tend to want a go in red machine. Alonso must be really chomping at the bit to win another WDC now though.
I just don't see any other seats open for 2015 really. Seb would have to hold out and wait a couple years for really anything to open up if Button does not retire.
I think it's rather going like this: Ferrari doesn't seem quite quick enough to match Mercedes and perhaps Mclaren, Alonso and Kimi will snoop points of each other. Alonso will finally be pissed off again and will go to Mclaren, Renault is as you say seriously down on power and the Red Bull need to work seriously on it's cooling which in turn will slow it down, so Vettel might indeed move. If he does, he's going to take Alonso's spot. I can see Button moving on next year to Le Mans like Webber. We'll see how wrong I am later this year .
Alright, how about over the next 3 races? I'll take Massa to beat at least 1 Ferrari driver. what's the bet?
