Something is "off" here. Never mind the HUGE red flag that should immediately come to mind when the name Tristram Buckley is involved. The OP posts his car for sale and within days is posting that he can't believe it hasn't sold yet. Then a few days later he lowers the price. A few days after that, he raises the price again?!

Something does not smell right here.

    Well said gentleman!

I personally do not think it is overpriced. The market is heating up on these cars. How many rear engine v12 ferrari models are there in the market today. The question is not if the price of 512's will exceed $200K, the question is when.

As I stated in a previous post, I sold my 06 Ford GT Heritage Heffner Twin Turbo with 2600 miles for $255K 9 months ago. Today it would fetch $400K!!!!! I had it listed on Dupont Registry and I am still getting at least 3 to 4 calls on it a week. When I had it listed for $350K people thought that it was overpriced. Now I could sell 2 a week at that price if I had them.

Ferrari owners (buyers) are just "funny" about repaint, any type of history like this hurts your odds (but NOT the fact you'll eventually sell it, of course) in the number of add responses.

This is the case of any of the modern cars, as there are just so many of them in production numbers that are always some "clean" on offer.

It is odd as the HUGELY valuable old Ferraris have all raced, caught fire in the pits, etc. and it matters not one whit...

GLWS...did you ever bring pics here into the thread?
PITA to click thru or search around...human nature in pay again!

So true about the repaint part. I average a call a week and almost everyone's hang up is repaint. I was worried about the repaint but not after Dave got done with her. Although it was not a complete repaint on my B***h and the paint was matched 100%, buyers are funny about that.

I will be increasing my asking price once I post it for sale outside of Fchat. No need to rush, they are going up in value and as I said before the right buyer will come along.

Although this is a beautiful 512, in a very appealing color combo, I thought the very samething as I kept reading the thread. I wish the seller the best, none the less.

I'm not sure buyers looking to drive the car are funny that way, but I believe speculators feel that way. The TR market has speculation jumping in fast. Someone looking to drive the car will not worry as much as someone who is going to be selling when the market is right for a nice profit -already happening.

    True enough.

A person interested in the machine, and driving, could really care less.
It's mainly about explaining the "why" it was done....rock chips, dings, they happen.

I paint my cars all the time, if it's off on the blend, they keep shooting!

No IMO this thread just let the association be noted.

A buyer can decide, as the machine speaks for itself.

I always cringe when a post starts out does anyone know this car, person, etc. Kind of like a fat girl asking "do these yoga pants make my a** look big"? It was huge when you put them on so assume it still is.

People open themselves up for criticism either knowing or unknowing and then don't like the responses they receive always cracks me up. It is worth the subscription cost IMO.

No offense to the seller of the 512TR it looks like a great car its just the guy you got it from who is the issue and maybe the price you are trying to get for it. I cant comment on the market for a 512TR so I have no idea on current market trends. I hope you get what you want for it but you can't expect top dollar for a car with previous damage unless you don't disclose it during the sale.

I am going all Strangelove on this thread

Unless Tristam buckley is on the east coast, the seller of this car (Dino) is not him. Dino has been around several of the local Cars and Coffees and is a known individual in the DC area car scene.

I hope that dispels the rumors, unless of course people think that I am Tristam Buckley in disquise ;)

Thanks for the clarification: Dino is not Tristram and Tristram is not Dino and yes the car is on the east coast I think the license plate gave it away. slow work day
