Nice video showing various 1980's Ferrari being constructed at the factory, 308, Mondial, 288 GTO, Testarossa.

Interesting! I notice a steel 308 with a vetroresina rear 'valance' (sorry, not sure of the proper term - rear below the bumper line?) Was this a cross-over between models or did all cars get this?
Also wonder if this was a compilation clip since there are shots of full glass 308 bodies as well as QV engines - surely these never crossed paths in reality?

My 85 QV has the fiberglass rear 1/4 lower panel/surround as well. Mine had some damage and I thought it was metal/rust. When I looked closer, I realized it was fiberglass and happy that the fix was easy.

This film was produced by the factory and is dated around 1984....

The glass bodied 308s in the clip are 288 GTO's in production....this is why the QV engines are shown as well.

308 QV's(The steel bodies in the video) in all spec. have fibreglass rear exhaust valances(slightly different in USA version from the rest of world models)

Excellent video. I noticed on count 6:54 they were installing the valve cover of a QV that has the red wrinkle finish. What model did that come with, 288 GTO?

    Spot on Mike....

The 288 GTO engines had valve covers with the red wrinkle paint finish.

    They were "special".....

At the 6:00 mark, look for 6 bore holes in the block. half a 12 cylinder engine ? perhaps footage from the TR line

I didn't know that! Now I know why these special cars seem to have a soul, every part has been touched by human hands infusing them with passione Italia ;-)

It is if you have a heart ;) I really enjoy these historic factory movie/video productions. It's amazing how many parts are shared across all the cars being built in the video and more importantly most are still available today....
