Renault will be fighting this issue for a long time.

Funny to see how f1 has become a digital war. Between renault PU's software and Marussia's virus. There were also reports of Red Bull asking help to Toro Rosso for the brake by wire programming.

It's a massive issue, we as relative commoners don't know how bad it is, but it's bad. Think Chernobyl when they run full power.

None of the engine makers can be really confident until they've got a few races under their belts.

I guess this is why the F-35 went so far over budget.

Seems it only goes Chernobyl in the Can however..... Sure, they're struggling, but the other Renault powered teams didn't fare quite as badly. Not good, but not as disastrous as Neweys packaging appears to make it.

    +1

Renault remain adamant that's it's all 'software issues', and given their resources and testing experience that should be fixable before next week, at least for the guys that didn't package the whole mess too tightly.

Seems to me the Cans went too aggressive with their packaging. A more conservative approach and it may be OK. Probably still down on power some, but power doesn't seem to be the problem right now.

    Cheers,
    Ian

It seems that Renault never heard that "if its not on fire, it's a software problem".
