Latest post from Hartstein, giving a (thank God) generic view of helmet injuries : This helmet cam stuff | A Former F1 Doc Writes
Italy's Gazzetta dello Sport claims that MS is now breathing on his own. If true, that would be awesome news.
Kehm stated yesterday or today that his situation remains unchanged, still trying to bring him out of the coma.
That would be great news indeed ! Kehm has issued a statement but gives no info except that there's been no change. Must be one of the shortest statements issued by a PR manager.
No problem. If this is true it is the most significant update since the day of the accident. I'm surprised not more folks are talking about this.
We need to stay positive for him but some of the latest news reports today are not encouraging. Michael Schumacher Coma: 'He Needs a Miracle,' Doctors Tell Family of German F1 Legend Doctors tell Michael Schumacher's family 'only a miracle' can save him, say reports | Mail Online
Watched an I interview yesterday of Felipe at the William press show for the new livery. When asked about seeing MS, he obviously skirted around the question. Did not get a cozy feeling.
I have constantly monitored Michael's condition/recovery and have prayed for him on a regular basis, as I grasp the severity of his situation. However, if it is not inappropriate to fall back on humor for a brief minute ... I suggest that if they really want MS to wake up, then they should send Damon Hill in to talk to him! Hope a little levity doesn't offend anyone.
More 'unconfirmed' reports from unnamed sources. +1 I swore I wasn't going to say another thing here until there was some official word. Too much drama. However, what seems to have been overlooked is Sabines (supposed) comment buried in the Motorsport story; Once again, 'she reportedly said', and its not in any of her official releases, so we can't be sure, but if true it's a least a tiny bit of positive news. As Dr H noted way back now, weaning him off the respirator would be a big positive. Let's hope so. Godspeed Michael Ian
Or, as someone said a while back, tell him Phil went fastest in testing!.... Just don't let him see any pictures of the silly noses. Godspeed Michael Ian
As always, Gary Hartstein says it best: Only a miracle | A Former F1 Doc Writes "And again, despite a day during which weve been told Michael is breathing on his own AND that it would take a miracle to save him, we know nothing more than we knew yesterday or the day before."
I have a friend who had an accident on jan 1st 2012. We both left the party at the same time, and he lived pretty close to where the party was. In an intersection I decided not to follow him as I was heading the opposite way. Hours later I received a call that he had a terrible accident. We still don't know what happened to him, he was not drunk and he didn't drive fast. He was sort of in the same situation as Schumacher, brain bruises and injuries with awful predictions from the doctors, he'd be lucky if he ever woke up, and if he did to be normal and independent. 28 days later he woke up, for some months he was like a drunk person, and now, 2 years later, he's impressively recovered, he's not the same 100%, he sounds different and seems slower, he doesn't remember some months after he woke up and months before the accident, but other than that he's fully recovered, he's started to drive again. Truly a miracle, I hope the same happens for Schumacher.
Michael Schumacher breathing by himself: Todt speaking to him in EnglishJames Allen on F1 ? The official James Allen website on F1 // F1 News // James Allen on F1 ? The official James Allen website on F1
Firstly, glad to hear your friend made it back. Quite a few stories along those lines have now been posted herein. Never give up hope! However, and I mean no disrespect here at all, you can obviously believe whatever you want, I think it's more a triumph of modern medical science than a miracle. +1 I don't think there's a person on the planet who doesn't want the same! Again, 'if anyone can, he can!' Godspeed Michael Ian
If true, why the devil doesn't Sabine confirm this? Everyone could sleep at least a little easier! Godspeed Michael Ian
Careful now! - You know how much that sort of talk upsets the "Realists"! (You know where I stand on this issue though! - Like your good self, I'm not ready to give up on Schuey that easily! ) FORZA SCHUEY! -FORZA CORINNA!
Not a religious person, so don't worry, I say a miracle as in going againts all odds, not divine intervention.
Sounds very positive - first he's full of confidence re Allievi (tifosi12's post)...enough to actually put his thoughts in writing. Then this part also stands out : Todt in particular is in constant contact even when not at the hospital. His close friend Prof Gerard Saillant is overseeing the care of the seven times world champion and reports to him several times a day. This I know from personal experience having visited Todt for an interview for the Financial Times last week. He also told me that You will write another book on Michael. And I will write the Foreword, referring to the 1997 and 2007 books I wrote about Schumacher. You can bet your bottom dollar that a new Schuey book was not the only thing discussed between Todt and Allen...at the very least a few nods, winks, and raised eyebrows were exchanged re MS. I'm really hoping that the reason Kehm is not reporting any faint improvement is because they don't want reporters at the hospital.
