    Image Unavailable, Please Login Everytime I start the 348 after sitting for days it seems like a full inspection is due. My first checks after startup are immediately oil pressure then gas lines. Omg how many cars have weak fuel systems out there? Next is idle sound and leak check.
    Just learning the 348 into a few months.

    On startup I can never get used to the sump sound with cold oil. It is like no oil is present for about a 12 seconds in cold weather. Once the car really warms up it runs great. Now I understand the transmission much more after it heats up and decides to deliver the gears finally. The 348 is a really fun car to learn but mostly suited when you drive it very often.

    We have had our 1995 348 spider since November. I've been driving stick cars and trucks since the early 70's and reading some of the good info on engine/gearbox warm up kind of scared me. **** into 2nd above 4k RPM, really? Well, after the engine/gearbox warms up it shifts great. Why does the engine need to hold 12 quarts? My 97 f350 CC 4x4 turbo diesel holds 14 since it is intended to pull loads. Well, the 348 is a race car for the street. Everything is made for extended high speed use, not that I really know this, it is just my opinion. Why else would the need so much oil! Good luck with the car. We love ours.
