I noticed that 2012 FFs are going anywhere from 239 to 269 with around 5000 miles. I know they are not popular because of their looks but I drove one and liked it a lot. I have 2 questions how has the reliability of the early (2012) been?

The other question is many of these 2012 cars have had multiple owners some as many as 3 with very little miles. Does anybody know what is going on, is it a car problem or just getting bored with the car.

    Thanks

Mine was the first one in to our dealership in early 12'. Not one problem so far with over 4k miles. As far as multiple ownership, it's like any other modern Fcar, people trade in and out of them for a myriad of reasons. Main one other then boredom as you say, is they are moving up in the queue for other or upcoming models.

We have a '13 that has been bulletproof.

Have not seen or heard of anything significant or systemic on 2012's, you can search the FF section. We've had one campaign for a hydraulic lifter reservoir cap.

There were relatively few 2012 models, I'd imagine many were demo's so had more than average miles. There's also a lot of speculation that a lot of them moved to advance the buyer up the wait list for 458 Spiders or F12's and therefore traded in again when their allocation came up.

2012's also were effectively $15K more expensive at MSRP than 2013's due to "popular" options that were made standard at the same MSRP in 2013.

Also, many of the 2012's I've seen, especially the former demo's, had a LOT of options and hence a higher MSRP, which made depreciation %'s look enormous, as few used buyers were interested in paying for rear seat DVD's, fancy leather, etc.

Hope that helps. Ferrari V12, 2+2 and controversial styling make this a polarizing car with an intense, focused but perhaps limited market. The car itself is incredible and seems most owners (including us) swear by them.

Only 190 were imported into North America last year and bought up by a small but devoted (near fanatical) group of fans.

I have a 2012, and I'm the 2nd owner. The previous owner traded it in for an F12. I'm around 4000miles, and also, no issues. My only other Fcar was a 612, so I can only compare to that.... and there's no comparison. The FF feels so solid and reliable, like any modern car should.

There's really nothing anyone can knock about the FF except for the looks... and that, is each own's opinion.

Popsmurf, I'm considering going from my 612 to an FF this summer. Is there anything that you miss about the 612 (other than the fact the 612 is a more
    classically styled car?)

I have briefly driven the FF, and have witnessed it on track during a track day. Extremely impressive on the track.

FF is a very enjoyable car to drive, I had the pleasure of driving one down in miami a few months back.

I think in general most people don't drive there Ferrari's as a DD or very often.

Most of the ones I found were between 250K-300K with around 5K miles like you stated.

It seems like the initial fast depreciations has slowed down. Is it because the car is "rare"? Or because at around $260k-$270K, demand is there?

    Hi Melanzane,

This is just my opinion, but I miss nothing about the 612 (looks included). I actually think the FF looks better than the 612. Actually, I was quite disappointed about the shifting in the 612. It was my Ferrari, but the shifting/jerking really irritated me. My friend's 335i shifted faster than the 612. I think the FF is superior than the 612 in all aspects (interior, NAV/BT, seats, steering wheel, etc.) The other thing is the FF feels like a modern car... everytime I'd roll down the window on the 612, there was always this fear that the switch would break or the window wouldn't roll back up.

Make the jump, you won't regret it. The FF is essentially the F12 with backseats. I'd give up the 60hp for backseats any day.
