    So I'm laying on the beach with my girlfriend towards the end of the summer listening to her complain I work to much. I give her the typical BS all us small owners give to our wives and girlfriends about how we have to do it, blah blah.

    My buddy Bill gives me a ring who recently bought a well sorted 550. "Hey Dan my oil pressure dropped and the car is making a loud noise. I shut her right off what should I do?" I run him through a bunch of things to check and come up empty. "Ok Bill get her towed and we will pick her up during the week." My girlfriend chimes in and goes see it's always work.

    "Hey Dan I can't find the tow hook." Not a problem Bill send me some photos and I will tell you exactly where it is..... Well as I'm sure you can guess at this point Bills tow hook is missing. I get the death stare from my girlfriend who already has a good idea of what I'm about to do.

    So I run to the shop to see if I can find one to help get the car on the trunk. "Hey Bill I found a tow hook, where are you?" "Sheffield, Massachusetts" As you can imagine my girlfriend was on strike for a few weeks.

    I ended up pulling off the timing covers to see if the belt jumped and everything looked normal to me. So we pulled the ECU, fuel, ignition fuses, and tried to spin the motor over followed by a noise that nearly made me vomit.

    Fast forward a few weeks the car finally came in.

    You are leaving us in suspense? Oil starved? When i did this in a V6 Noble (Ford) it was a rod bearing. We replaced the entire motor....$4400!

    Did you remove the engine by splitting at the bell housing, or did you remove engine + bell housing/clutch as one unit by disconnecting torque tube?

    That timing belt on the left hand side of the engine (right side from the front of the motor, as in the pictures) does not look right to me. Belt stripped?
