They seemed to be the one group to have the "power unit"( God I hate saying that) figured out.


They sound like the Mitsubishi eclipse in the first Fast and Furious movie.

 

I bought it just because sector times are no longer shown on the F1 live timing screen! The app is great

Still poking at it. not much happening as yet. Incidentally, they have to turn in one set of primes after 30mins of this session..... They better not whine about not having the tires.....

So excited about this season but wow... The cars sound terrible!

 

slow(er), ugly and sound awful.

not a good combination.

 

Unfortunately I agree with this. I know its early and I'm keeping the faith but right now these cars are so underwhelming. The Ricciardo overhead shot was just meh and that's usually a highlight of F1.

 

Sorry, but unless they didn't want to pay (?), Martini should really be on the side pods IMO.

They could have done so much better...

Wow - I never thought I would say it, but I agree - they sound like CRAP!!

And the cars look WEIRD! Too tall and thin - they need to be squashed down and wider like a Champ Car.

Watching it now on Speed, and I'm a little bummed. I was a big fan of the turbos, and I support the return of them, but going to an F1 event should yield a special experience. I remember going to Montreal and hearing the banshee-like scream of the engines - THAT WAS SOMETHING. Only thing more amazing would be a NHRA Top Fuel car.

I'm a little shocked by it...but they don't sound very good.

Ok.... not digging the sound of the sixes. About as exciting as the Audi Diesels.

 

Let us know how it sounds in person, I have to agree, they sound f-ing horrible, and then there are the noses......

The Ferrari's sound okay. The others sound like old twin v motorcycles. Terrible for these cars

 

They sound like old enduro motorcycles...

Aircon has already reported that they sound like crap in person too.

 

They do not sound good on TV. They sound muted, flat, and "tame." Maybe during the race we'll hear more anger.
