Rosberg after P2 was saying something about his steering wheel screen that shows fuel consumption in real time, each lap or whatever, so he didn't think it would be a problem.
If true, then he's in great shape and it will be fun to watch the MB guys duke it out, along with Fred/Kimi, and the Williams duo as well, over the full season.

Yes good to see, more torque tougher to control.

More torque yes but the major aspect is the instantaneous torque and not having to rev to 18K rpm's to reach max torque.

Not so sure. They'll all be driving below the car's capabilities to save fuel (and possibly motors).

    We shall see.

Surely the output is mapped by the throttle pedal (or torque pedal, as it's known in F1), so torque isn't instantaneous? Mind you I know **** all about electricity, but seems to me the obvious thing and relatively easy thing to map in...

These gents will still be racing and pressuring each other and have pressure on themselves. New cars, tires and more torque. That means errors like we saw today. Plus these brake by wire systems seem far from consistent. The start will be really really exciting. Tire spin/harder tires all of it will play into errors etc. Exiting a corner now demands a car be straight as the power is applied, too early or late and things happen! Over-steer is in abundance from what the tests and today show! Love it!

Actually max torque can be achieved almost instantaneously with a turbocharged engine as long as the turbine/compressor wheels and housings are optimized.

I'm guessing we will see a number of accidents right off the start line on Sunday. Don't expect a clean start with these power units which no one really knows anything about!

Chilton over 5s slower than the fastest time in FP2.
How many times do we think he'll be lapped in the race?

Actually Williams boys were working different programs. Bottas was focused on set up and Felipe was doing testing for new rear wing part.

Stefano's explaination on Autosport is quite politely ambiguous :) He just says Ferrari need to clear them up fast. He deserves the best car etc etc.

From BBC - "I think Ferrari will be there or thereabouts, too, but I am a little bit confused as to why Alonso appears to be able to get more out of the car than Kimi Raikkonen."

Sound familiar LOL!! Poor Kimi he's filling the Massa role quite well lol :) BBC has nothing on Kimi's problem either---http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/formula1/26573639

    "I can't drive any slower"

They're testing the limits in practice. They won't be exploiting them in the race.

Lotus will apparently use their first of 6 allowable curfew breakers (whatever they're called) tonight. Last night they also worked through most the night...

    Good goings for Lotus :p.

ambiguity is the theme of this season! What sort of mascot could we associate with that? Perhaps James Hunt lol
