Guess you don't really need AWD to put all that power to good -- awesome -- results!

A 9 second street legal car, the P1. World's fastest production quarter mile car!? I bow in admiration!

It may not ET much faster but it sure should mile per hour higher. In any event these times are really incredible for a car who's real mission is to exploit cornering velocities. WOW.

I guess you don't. The 0-60 time for a rear wheel drive vehicle is pretty special. Especially on street tires.

how about the 45-65mph time of less than one second? now that is something that might be handy in the 'real world'....

60 to 130 in 4.8 seconds is pretty serious stuff. Enzo takes about 6.7 seconds.

Under ten seconds is insane. But I guess it would be that fast when you've got over 900 horsepower and only 3,000 lbs to move.

Only thing is you better enjoy your 1st drag since they'll ask for your NHRA competition license after the first run.

I don't know about US/UK deliveries, but European deliveries started on schedule and are in the full swing ahead mode with quite a few cars delivered and many more expected to commence during springtime.

As I said before in my first post about 918 conservative figures, I must admit about
918 spyder's 1/4mile time , Porsche claim is 9.9s for weissach pak but in reality
it is more faster than P1 and Veyron ss even without weissach paket!! I am sure about that it is because of Walter Röhrl test it several times and it is the reason why McLaren
refused to test p1 against 918 (even without weissach pak!!)
soon or late it will be clear when motortrend test 918 spyder and it will make 918 spyder
weissach pak #1 in their list for 1/4mile

The actual number is close to 15 privately registered cars in Europe (actual number plates spotted), a couple of them going to UAE. Add a couple more sitting in dealers' showrooms. As of today, the total number of cars built should be around 30.

"...you've watched the infamous sub-7 minute 'Ring lap"

Come again? We haven't seen anything remotely close to a sub-7 minute lap.

Yet another journalist makes yet another mistake about the P1.

    Great video apart from that!

You probably don't realize and may not even care, but the #BelieveInMcLaren campaign was not of my doing and has nothing to do with the Nurburgring lap.

It was started last year by two McLaren Formula One team fans when the team was struggling badly. These two supporters happen to be females, one from Spain the other from Russia, and their efforts gained enough traction through social media that it was recognized by McLaren Racing.
