Refitted front seats. The seat rails bolt in with 4 allen bolts each seat, bolting into the floor rails which have a flat nut tack welded to the underside and sealed part of the rail. One of mine on the drivers side dropped into the cavity below the seat...39 years for three tack welds isn't bad i guess. no tricks would get the nut to a spot where i could re-attach then tighten the allen bolt.

Nothing for it, jack one side, drill out enough rivets in the floorpan to be able to reach in with a socket and, with much grunting, get the bolt and nut together with seat rail attached and tighten. Re-rivet the floor pan, seal the sides with some black Por15 silicone stuff, finish off that seat and the other and it was done. ...

The chassis rails and floor tubing looked good - some surface rust but nothing serious. I feared finding a ton of muck sealed in - not the case as it was bone dry and fairly clean. Next winters project will be to drop the whole pan, de rust and seal and rivet it back together.

Not many cars you can whip out the rivet gun on to help solve a problem. It's nice when you start overcoming your fear of the car and just get in there.

Now waiting for that nasty salt dust to be washed away...

Took a piss in the sink in my garage. I wanted to install a urinal, but that was shot down, as was the man-trough.

I can still piss in my sink however. Can't take that away from me.

I had my 328 out for the first time since October. I'd almost forgotten how awesome it is.

Unfortunately not much. The weather on the days I would have had a chance to do anything has been miserable. Hoping to do the timing belts and tensoners, recharge the A/C this spring and finally track down the trim bits for the antennea.

More in the immediate future, hopefully a drive on Sunday, as the Boxer is still having the suspension redone and will probably not be back by then. Actually, even if the Boxer is back, I'm still going to drive the 308. Since buying the car in 2001, I have gone the longest time without driving it any distance. Really a horrible winter here in the NY metro area.

I put an outdoor cover on it!

I recently moved back to the Jersey Shore and our temporary abode only has a carport to protect my 328. I watched in horror over the last month or so as my car accumulated snow on it, likely for the first time ever. Even though the carport covers the car, snow was blowing in and onto it. This is all too much for me to handle mentally, so I bought an outdoor cover to protect it until she's back in a garage again. Ugh...

Sandblasted and powder coated the heater fan deflector sheet metal jobbies in the front. Did the same for the top of the air horn compressor and a fire extinguisher bracket. Came out great - Matte Black powder from Summit is a very good match for the original finish on the black parts of the car.

Test Pipe & Larini Exhaust - she screams!!!

    Augustus,

I got such a killer deal on my 328 and helped an elderly man who had medical issues know it was going to a great home. We still chat occasionally today.

Interesting more is that Stock Can and test pipe sound very formula-like and I loved it! Larini gives it a deeper more pronounced pitch. Not as high pitched as I enjoyed with the stock can, but it is much louder at lower RPMs and that's exactly worth it!

Removed the leaking driver's side heater core, which required removal of the two fiberglass pieces. Ordered some new ducting and rivets to reassemble after I get the core repaired.

I put my new vanity plates on.

I decided to retire my NRRVOUS plates because in all the time I've had them I only had a couple people make the connection with Ferris Bueller's Day Off. I hope that this one will get a few more chuckles. I took the idea for the plate from one of the responses in a recent vanity tag idea thread here on f-chat. [IMG]

Drove mine to our local F1 watching party. Joined there by another dozen Ferrari's of various models and colors. I like the sound of my engine (power plant) better than the new V6 turbos.
