360 How to properly close luggage compartment

I usually use my palm on the badge, I have a 430 tho. Just like my old GT3, same thing, no issues.

I just slam it closed by grabbing the front edge while its fully open and pushing down hard.








Just kidding.

To be honest I forget its there and have never put anything inside it. Except once I took the 430 shopping at Costco and completely packed the front. People in the parking lot were amazed and amused.

That's a serious danger and finger prints made from chicken nuggets grease or Bolognese sauce (depending on where you live) are likely to brand you as a rookie or a slob. Plus you put yourself at risk of being drummed out of the country club.

The proper way is to ease the cover down and then latch it by forming your hand into a fist and pressing down on the badge with your knuckles.

 

This is what I do too. I always wondered if this is the "right" way. Looks like it is.

Me too..

 

I have always used both hands mid way between the crest and the sides of the bonnet therefore equally distribute the closing force to 1/2. Never a problem with numerous Ferrari cars and Porsches.

 

I find it requires the lightest pressure, which I apply both sides forward and lateral of the badge. Doesn't need much at all.

I just push on the badge with my thumb. Not sure why folks are pressing with their fists or palm on a tiny spot.

 

I use two thumbs on the Ferrari emblem. That's how Todd @ Esoteric Auto Detail showed me to close it.

 

You need a pretty strong thumb to close my hood!

 

I have my butler wear white gloves that have been freshly washed in only the softest detergent from Switzerland and then have him press down with a rubber and felt tool that evenly distributes the weight across a 6x6" surface. Then I get in, he closes my door for me... and I mash on the gas.
