I'm sorry man, but how many friggin' threads do we need on this topic? It is what it is, at least for now. Hopefully they'll improve soon. Cheers Ian
Its great watching the drivers have to actually drive the car rather than electronics controlling the exit. The pressure on the drivers is much much harder when racing close to another driver for position. Look at the lockups and slides from Alonso, Hulkenburg, Botas, Kimi, etc. The driver's weren't having to tool around controlling tire temp and wear while relying on traction control off the corner. A great set of changes that puts a lot more into the driver's hand. The fuel issue is really the only thing I don't like.
I agree with you Ian! It is what it is. Let's all of us move on and accept all the changes. Maybe in 20 years from now we will be talking how much we missed the today's era...
I kind of doubt it, do we really think that there will be movies like Senna, Rush and 1 made about the era we are entering? I am going to give it a chance this season as there is very little else that is compelling to watch and I am up that time in the morning on Sundays anyway.
We are going get over it like we got over the fact that Formula cars have F1 transmissions instead of manual. Like we getting over that in most exotic cars manual transmission is not offered anymore.... I am not saying that I love the new F1 era but I am not going to be the one keep complaining about it over and over. I believe that we have to enjoy each era for what it had or has to offer.
--Formula 1 looks set to abolish the current fuel flow sensor, which came under fire from Red Bull following Daniel Ricciardo's disqualification in Melbourne, and debut an all-new version during the 2014 season, according to Racecar Engineering. -- Source - Grandprix.com Rightly or wrongly Red Bull's case had this effect I think to accelerate this to be addressed. A new part hopefully will be more consistent and reliable for all teams.
Not strictly true I'm afraid. The whole story; New fuel flow meter for F1 and WEC | Racecar Engineering There's a lot more to this little saga (a new company founded by some guys from Gill among others involved) than we've heard thus far...... As for those who want the flow limit scrapped, do you want a Le Mans style economy run that we saw a few years back when they simply limited capacity? We'd have no overtaking at all as the guy in front dials his power up when needed, otherwise he's saving fuel all the time. I'd prefer they scrapped the 100kg limit - You can start with as much as you want, but you can't use it at more than 100kg/hr. Cheers, Ian
