The car truly hasn't aged. Still one of the best rolling sculptures on the roads today.

they will never make such a pure super car again. manual gearbox with sweet v10 and engine hoop grill is work of art

    hence I'm never selling mine.

the car hasn't aged at all. of course a lot of that is the somewhat glacial pace of design at Porsche.

Such a great design. It has, and will, age very well. That is, of course, if all the owners don't write the car and themselves off first. Love the widow maker. :)

Still looks great. I'm sort of sad it didn't influence Porsche's overall design in the past 10 years as much as it should have. Hopefully the 918, which is also gorgeous, will.

I'm thrilled that it did NOT influence Porsche design.

Ugly. Looks like a Porsche 'El Camino' pick-up from the side...

Ungainly. Cool little details do NOT make an attractive automobile.

El Camino? Pick up? Euthanize this guy or get him a stronger set of spectacles! That's why the CGT makes it into lot's of high end collections that usually include the other usual suspects such as the Enzo and the F40 ect... Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and is subjective but to call it ugly and compare it to a truck is retarded? They are so ugly that it turned out to be one of the very few modern cars that did not plummet in value, has been strong and getting stronger. Let's revisit the image of the not so attractive red pick up...

car is 100% goofy looking from the side.

a lot of 996 influence as well.

I love the pedal box, the shift knob, and the door panels.

looks wise though, there are better alternatives.

That's true... but mostly because of it's rarity, performance and technical uniqueness.

It has little to do with aesthetics (or lack thereof).

...and the 'Dr. Killer' is getting rarer and rarer as they spin backwards into ditches at an alarming rate.

Idiots behind the wheel, used to drive modern cars with electronic nannies saving their unskilled butts from serious hurt.
Carreras GT just separates people into 2 groups, those who are just passengers and those who are real drivers.

I find that the design of the CGT is sleek, functional and timeless. The smooth curves are quite different from the sharp angular body styles of today. But the subtleties, for example, the "V" shaped arm mounts of the side mirrors have aircraft influence. The design was ahead of its time. The 918 has a similar front and just a more aggressive rear.

The V10 NA Le Mans motor is also one of the last of a dying breed. For me personally, it produces the most symphonic exhaust note of any car.

It is the one car I drive that literally makes me tremor and fires my synapses to no end.
My friend just took a spin in mine and he said it made his testicles quiver.

"Porsche Carrera GT - It will make your testicles quiver."

If that's not the proper way to market a supercar, I don't know what is ;)

Truly a Porsche Ag icon that defines state-of-the-art for the period it was built in. An awesome machine.

Personally, I think the styling is ok, but I can see how some with a design eye might find some angles a strain, so the car definitely invokes a love-hate reaction, as evidenced by 3 people posting here who simply don't like it. But, none of that should matter to someone who owns one, this is a benchmark sports car.

As regards values, although they are not super-rare (604 USA cars alone), they are rare enough for values to remain strong and increase as time goes by.

A great tribute to a great car.
