There are ~10 scuds listed in the US with asking prices of less than 200k.

I agree that someone needs to wake up. :)

+1 I paid top dollar for my car and even if it sells at 195K I will be losing. I cant complain because I think the good scuds are starting to hold a bit.

I don't know what "good" means. Perhaps you mean "in demand or popular"? Good is subjective.

It's funny that people come in this thread, do not read what it is about or what I'm actually looking for, then state their wishes for the market as fact. I'm looking for what you guys call a "storied" car around here. I'm going to beat the **** out of it on the track and possibly even crash it. Who knows...happens sometimes when you are trying to get better. I won't clear bra it either if it doesn't have one already.

Thanks for showing all the money bags, you left one out though.

He is calling your car "off color" florano. He thinks it is the only reason it won't sell for more than 200k. Either that or it is "storied". Do you agree w that?

Should be able to find a storied car or high mileage one for around $150K, maybe less, just might take a while before one comes up. Good luck. They are truly magnificent cars.

That's my assessment as well. Red, non-storied, low-mileage cars in excellent condition are in very short supply. Prices for them appear to be stable or tracking upwards a little.

LOL I couldnt care less what people think of my car as the serious buyer will always do his homework and will talk to the seller of said car.
MOST,not all, of the people who discuss what this or that car should go for are just dreamers or not really serious about buying a car anyway.
If a silver/red combo is considered off color to a buyer so be it...I guess the same person would turn down a Merc.300sl because of that combo to,lol..

    Good luck to the OP.
I too am in search of a Scud. I posted a couple months ago about finally getting a good paying job and wanted to buy a 360, however I decided to go where my heart leads me.
That being a Scuderia, to me that is the holiest Ferrari ever produced. It will be about 5 years or so, but I'm going to be saving for it soon. At 19, I am just fortunate to be thinking of saving for one.

I hope we can post pics of our Scuds in short time, god speed friend!

    Couldn't have said it better : )

Just for the record though, it's the guys selling that are adamant about the 250k target of the scuds; not me : )

Really, when you get as purpose-built as a scud...and there are so few...it is pretty subjective. I can understand red being the most popular. I can understand black being harder do to the upkeep...I can see someone wanting a luxury one vs a more track-inspired. It appeals to a lot of tastes. One that might make me overspend, might make someone else go "huh!?"

I guess my point is, people (not you) should avoid making silly blanket statements about value...especially to inflate the market because of a personal sale.

Good luck again with your sale; was sorry to see it fell through!

You will die if you don't eat.

When is your scud up for sale? Don't you feel dishonest just posting blindly about value because you want to maximize your resale value? That seems messed up to me.

Thanks man - that is very encouraging! I will see what Chad comes back with, but appreciate that data point and all the information people have shared with me here in the thread and via PM.

That is awesome! Must be a hell of a job! When Google moved to Pittsburgh, some very young gents were scene shopping for exotic cars as well : ) Enjoy it! Stay safe! I was NOT mature enough to handle a scud at 19...or earn to afford one! haha!

Thanks!! I'm up to my eyeballs in current projects, but that is just it. I can just see the light in the distance, so I am queuing up my next goal! Plus, I just basically fell in love with the scud and cannot stop thinking about it...or getting back in it for that matter : )

It is a hard job, no office or computer work. I have dreamed of this career ever since I was a young boy, always had a passion for trains.

The best part of the Scud search is that it would be sent to my home city to be held in exotic vehicle storage facility, I just want to look at it when i am home and have the feeling of success from owning my dream car. It would be a major garage queen.

My plan is to make my 2012 Mustang GT 5.0 a mini Ferrari and be able to have it along side my real Ferrari. It already has a tan interior, is painted race red, and will soon have yellow Brembo brakes. No it won't have any Ferrari stickers.... I just love the color schemes. :)

Very cool! Computers rot your eyes! It's nice to be out and about too. You can always do an office gig later if you want...

I have a simple philosophy about cars - if it makes you happy, then you are doing it right. I would beg you to at least go drive someone else's scud at the track though. Then you will have a another memory to associate with the car when you see it! : )

So I've done a little research and, overall, it seems the scuds are very reliable.

Seems like all/a lot of the engine carbon will haze with track use. That does not bother me at all. I am able to remove, restore, and replace if it bothers me. I do not predict it will though.

Sounds like the headlights sometimes have issues as well. I am also capable of restoring these, but obviously nice to find one without any detailing work needed.

Sounds like Ferrari replaces parts on these issues if the owner complains. Also sounds like the carbon will always haze in the engine compartment with track use...but it can be mitigated by popping the hood between sessions - always a good policy anyway!

I saw some other F1 transmission issues, but most seem to be related to earlier 430s. I also saw a number of one-off-ish type stuff and some dealer screw ups. Nothing that scares me. The closes dealer is 3 hours away, so there is that also ; )

So the search continues and I should hear from Chad tomorrow. I've been casually collecting prices and talking to people to get some background on cars. There are definitely a wide range out there for sure.

Oh and on must-have options. I don't think I have many, but I love the cloth interiors and the led wheel is also important to me for the track...

Very exciting! Now back to work on my M3 - have to pass inspection on Wednesday!

Yes the scud is relatively sturdy!

If you intend to track, do yourself a favor and read all of F430GT's posts and threads. He offered heaps of firsthand track learnings to us all.

In the USA the led wheel was standard. I've seen only one scud where for whatever reason there are no leds...either the wheel was spec'd that way or changed at some point. I don't think you will have to look hard to find one with the led wheel :)

By cloth do you mean : technical fabric or alcantara? The tech fab was std and alcantara seats and dash lid cover (over the instruments) were optional. There is gobs of alcantara std in several other places in the cars and leather was an option too.

Well i hate when people bash the prices on scuds. when these cars were new there were 300k plus cars, sure there scuds that are run down and track and tons of mile on it and there a list of stuff that been done , then i understand that scud is about the 160k and 170k mark what i hate about it is that a good scud ,low miles perfect shape no track condition the scuds is like new then you have to give credit and pay top money for it in the 225k -250k

Awesome! Appreciate the short-cut! I have a fair amount of experience with selecting/adjusting components/etc so look forward to the process. Sounds like a lot of people opt out of selling a kidney and go for steel rotors after the CF wears out. Saw a lot of cool stuff. Will look for this user specifically!

Ha! I saw a car like this so was confused. Maybe I should buy some scud catalogues off ebay or something to relive the experience I couldn't afford in 2008/2009 ; )

I mean both! I like the tech fab the best because it is most basic, but alcantara is a great fabric for the track. Shying away from leather for this car.
