My first Ferrari, but far from my first project car. Picked up this long forgotten 1990 348TS with 34k on the clock. Interior is worse than any car I have ever seen. I think it sat in the Cali sun for a decade or something. Even the leather on the door panels has shrunken and pulled off arm rest. But, it is mechanically good, and the price was impossible to beat. Currently pulling the engine to jump into the 30k service, then will likely drive it the summer as-is, then work on it more in the winter.

Sounds like you got a good deal! Whoa that seat looks pulverized to hell maybe water damaged but not a huge deal. Good luck with the restore adventure!

Not water damaged, sun damaged. The owner found a vintage Ferrari and this one was sort of forgotten about for a long time. I think there might have been a sun shade in the dash, but it did nothing for the seats. They are as hard as a rock, brittle, and about 80% of the size they need to be to cover the seats and doors. Dash itself is perfect.

So sad that someone one would let a Ferrari interior get like that. Good luck with your project. Look forward to seeing the updates.

Glad you found it to nurse it back, learn about it, and drive the hell out of it. Good luck, great thread.

Sad someone let it go, but it works out in my favor because I LOVE project cars, and I got it dirt cheap. Mechanically and structurally it is good. It is impressively hard to find a poor condition Ferrari that isn't a salvage title. And that I got it in white.. Yeah, I love it. I did get a few short, gentle drives in before I put it up on stands. I am going to REALLY like this car.

Great find. My baby is done and awaiting road test. May be a bit for the salt to clear. Go crazy with the leather products and see what happens. Then there's always new covers. Get a car cover and window shades. Can't wait to get my tonneau cover fitted on my spider!

it is hard to see in the pics, but the leather is 100% ruined. There are rips well over 1.5" wide, and running the full length of the stiches (over 10") in many places. The door panels with the armrest are now more or less flat because the leather has shrunk up so much. There is only a faint hint of the diagonal lines above the armrest. I've seen poor condition leather, but this is by FAR the worst I have ever seen. I'm going to change it out to black leather so it will be all white and black.

Nice find and congratulations! I bet it would look so nice with a red leather interior.

Awe crap! Well it's new covers and panels time. Weather was nice and clear today but looks like we have several days of rain coming including my day off tomorrow.

It might be best to get a good set of used seats. Not much left there.
