No changes for Bahrain - Maybe China/Spain for Ferrari for updates. Fernando Alonso says Ferrari know what they need to improve for China and Spain | Fernando Alonso Profile | Formula 1 | Sky Sports
[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f7BdZ84dupY]Alonso start 2014 Malaysia - YouTube[/ame] Look how Fred is struggling with the car. Expect the same...
Raikkonen had the same...the difference between the Ferrari's and other cars in slow corners is huge. As soon as they accelerated they just struggle for traction so much. Out of T2 in Malaysia there was an immediate 20m gap between the driver in front with both drivers
I don't know if these are appreciated here, please let me know and I will stop posting Finnish news, seriously.
Yeap. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZxrlbIHZjMo]F1 2014 Malaysian GP - Kimi Räikkönen Onboard - YouTube[/ame] And that's a Caterham & Marussia in front of Kimi..
Reading Kimi's comments made me wonder if any of the tv guys will stick around for the test following this weekend? Seems they may as well..... I do hope so. Cheers, Ian
Wolff expects Mercedes driver rivalry to boil over at some point | Mercedes | Formula 1 news, live F1 | ESPN F1 If LH keeps opening gaps up like he did in Sepang there wont be an issue with this at all.
It's just horrid. Hopefully with the new front end parts they can then set up the rear end better to generate some decent grip out of slow corners, Massively important for the next 6 (!!!) GP's. Bahrain has 3 slow corners, Shanghai 4, Barcelona 2 (1 extending out on a huge straight, where low traction out of is extremely vital as we saw last year), Monaco is endless slow corners and then Canada and Austria. These upgrades better work well...
Thank you guys for the green light The tv-guys from Finland will stick around, MTV has the best coverage of F1-news in Finland but Mr. Kulta from Turun Sanomat gets exclusive interviews - even from Kimi who in the beginning ran away from him - due to his trustworthy and good reputation on the paddock. Kimi-fans have known for years about the front end and how important it is to him, so we are all keeping fingers crossed that the new updates help him get the 'feeling' he always talks about. Lotus is a good example; they built the front end according to Kimi's wishes and as soon as he got the 'feeling' he dived into corners gaining more speed. James Allison being in Ferrari could work in favor of Ferrari and Kimi since he knows exactly what kind of front end Kimi wants. Lotus built about six front ends until Kimi was satisfied and it showed in the results. Believe it or not but I am mainly hoping for Ferrari to grab the WCC, the WDC isn't important and I would happily let Alonso take that one, I was so frustrated when Kimi was in Lotus and Lettuce didn't help the team gaining more WCC-points. That's why I hope that the drivers race with one goal in mind: WCC If it turns into a petty and ugly fight on the track then Ferrari may aswell kiss the WCC goodbye How about you guys? Which one would you prefer if you could choose, WDC or WCC?
F14 T problems 'everywhere' - Stefano Domenicali | Ferrari | Formula 1 news, live F1 | ESPN F1 Ferrari have a host of issues to solve.
Thanks. I wasn't aware that Lotus build 6 front ends in the end...damn. I'd rather Kimi beat Alonso, the latter has been regarded as best in the paddock for years so that'll be a tremendous achievement. I dislike how Alonso portrays himself and the stuff he's done. Ferrari have a very slim chance at WCC this year in any case...Although I am of course a Ferrari fan I support drivers first. In the last few years I couldn't really care what Ferrari did because it was always Alonso first with Massa not amounting to much.
The traction issue has been a problem for the last few seasons so it is a design philosophy problem especially in low speed corners where aero is not really a factor.
Red Bull's patience running out | Planet F1 | Formula One | News, Standings, Results, Features, Video Bulls and Renault. No honeymoon this year.
They should absolutely televise it! F1 is primarily about the drivers, after all, and the drivers will be plodding around the track under a strict protocol dictated by the engineers. You know, just like the races.

I posted this in the wrong thread, lol: Kimi has finished no worse that 6th at Bahrain since on the calendar, save for 1 DNF. He has podium'd there when driving a car that put him outside the top 5 for WDC twice. Can he win it this weekend? Not likely. But if Ferrari can give him that front-end "feel" he covets so much, and manages to stay out of trouble for the first two laps, he may give Fred his first challenge as a teammate. Arguably, Fred has primarily done well in Bahrain when he has had a championship contending car. His record there has been rather poor since being with Ferrari, save for 2010 - perhaps his best Ferrari since joining the Scuderia.
I wonder if engine manufacturers are required to supply a team if they ask for it (and of course pay) or if they can deny. If they can deny, the only option is Honda. I'd rather stick with renault...
