He was making no ground on the Caterham and if anything, the Ferrari was more of a handful - seemed to have little grip at the rear. As you know, turbo cars are harder to drive, because once you break traction and lift, the turbo continues to spool up for a bit and wheelspin actually increases.
I don't actually know for sure, but as I recall, the rules this year are such that the right pedal isn't a throttle anymore, it's a "torque demand" thing (may already have been the case last year or earlier), and the ERS should be able to brake the turbo pretty quickly, I think?
of course, that and many others. But seriously, it's way harder than it looks and I suspect that not all the good drivers of the blown floor / naturally aspirated era will look as good for some time to come. and I bet Mercedes have got an electronic cheat going on with their cars, 15kmh faster through the traps and nowhere near as taily as the others.
Check the F1 section, Speedy normally posts up the links .............. or as a resourceful fellow 355 owner you could use google
As I'm generally rubbish at everything except flying aircraft, I wisely tend to outsource the rest. I'll check and see if there's a link. Otherwise I guess I'll just watch the live timing.

Gentlemen, I have been a big fan of F1 for a long time. I Remember going to see the great man in his F310, the noise, buzz and excitement. Sadly I have I have to say that this year the sound of the cars are pathetic, it's just not F1. I thought I would give it a race or two but I just can't get used to this ridiculous sound.

Adding the 10 grid spot penalty takes Ricciardo to 13th on the grid. How good are those Mercs! Look at Bottas and Perez. A very interesting season so far.
Fernando Alonso believes an engine problem held him back in qualifying at the Bahrain Grand Prix after progressively struggling to stay on the pace during the three sessions. Alonso was tenth fastest but will start from ninth on the grid due to Daniel Ricciardo's ten-place grid penalty from Malaysia. He experienced a drop in power in Q3, but on Saturday night the team was still investigating the exact cause for the issue. "It's sad that a problem with the engine happened in qualifying because we ran in free practice without an issue and then in Q1 it was more or less okay, in Q2 we lost a little bit and in Q3 we lost even more," he said. "It was sad in a way but this is motor racing and we just need to think that we didn't miss the possibility of pole position because we were not in that position, we just missed a couple of places that hopefully we can recover at the start." Alonso is confident he can move forward from his starting position during Sunday's race. "We start on the clean side with Ricciardo's penalty in ninth, so we will try to help with the start and the strategy and attack the race. Today didn't work as we planned and there is plenty of time to recover and we need to do a good race." Good to see Ricardo has out done vettel again. Pity about Ferrari.. The car needs to be better.. Restructure the team as Mercedes did.. Another year lost. Imagine if they've a lesser driver than fernando..
Michael Schumacher is making eye-contact and responding to voices, according to the very latest media reports. Earlier, after a worrying three-month long coma, the F1 legend's manager Sabine Kehm revealed that Schumacher is now having "moments of consciousness and awakening". The news cheered the F1 paddock in Bahrain, but now there are apparently even more signs of improvement in the former Ferrari and Mercedes driver's previously life-threatening brain injuries. Italy's La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Schumacher is making encouraging eye movements, while Germany's Bild am Sonntag newspaper claims the great 45-year-old German is even responding to voices. Family friend Jean Alesi, a former F1 driver, has visited Schumacher several times in hospital, and he is now much more optimistic about the future. "First, Michael responded only to pain, when he was pinched for example," he is quoted by Speed Week. "But that can also be an unconscious reaction of the body. "During my last visit I realised that something was beginning to change for the better. I felt with the family some relief, a great joy about how things were developing. "It is fabulous," the Frenchman claimed, "even though the path back to life is still long." Felipe Massa, a former Ferrari teammate of Schumacher's and another close friend, seemed to confirm that the seven time world champion is now responding to voices. "I cannot really put into words how excited I am about it," the Brazilian admitted in Bahrain. "I prayed every day for Michael and they were answered. Now I hope to continue to hear good news from Grenoble," Massa added
