does the fully painted option on laferrari add extra weight? https://fbcdn-photos-h-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn2/t1.0-0/1378256_440934669371017_1159354516_n.jpg
All the LaF I've seen so far have had painted roof's, either red or black. I believe there is a longer waiting time for the cars with the CF roof finish? Has anyone seen a LaF with the CF roof? I doubt the paint on the roof adds any weight worth speaking of. The car is already loaded with batteries.
I'm sorry but that front plate is just hideous! How bad can the penalty be for no front plate in Europe? Why ruin a multi-million dollar car with a front plate? Just leave it off and pay the fine. Over here, most dealers don't even install front plates on sports cars even though it's Texas law to have one. In over 12 years, I've been stopped twice for no front plate but I have never been given a citation. Not one of my 6 cars has ever left the dealer with a front plate installed. It's never even been an issue. The 2 times that a cop asked me about no front plate, I told them that's the way the car came from the dealer (which was the truth). They just dropped it and let me go. No big deal here. Is it a big deal in Europe?
Yes. They will stop you everytime and fine you. I think they might also take your license until you prove you have added the front plate.
i think the 918 weissach package has an option of weight saving for not having the body painted (I might be wrong and am welcome for correction). according to the more reputable members here ferrari has never been honest about the weights of its cars anyway, so even with the bare carbon paint job the actual dry weight will probably be different than the listed one.
I dunno. I think it says something quite special that a marque can be so deeply tied to a certain color. I can't think of another brand that does it. Can anyone else? Red isn't just 'red' at Ferrari. Its like 'blood' to the body. Essential and significant. That pic of the F40's? Boring? No way. Pretty damn impressive in my book.
Sure. But I was referring to lafe. Of the very few cars that have been delivered, most of them are red-black. Knowing what type of paint jobs people are getting for the lower end ferraris in recent years I think the possibility of have a non red Ferrari is a lot higher than the f-40 time.

Bugatti Blue, Jaguar Green, Mercedes Silver. Though none have the "resale repaint" phenomena, if that's what's meant.
Exactly! When having a color other than the 'signature' color actually COSTS YOU MONEY, THAT is a color that means something! : ) And the historical significance as well….
