I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions about what kind of wheels would look good on a Ferrari 308 GTS. I saw some BBS wheels that would look very nice on a 308 but they were not the right size, does anyone know any websites that sells BBS wheels that would fit a 1985 308 GTS QV.

I would go as far as saying IMO the 17" compomotives are the best looking after market wheel, but it's no longer available. Carobu is making a very nice wheel close in style to the compo.

Lister Bell in the UK make 16 and 17 inch coffin wheels like on the stratos. Love the look. Any width.

    I made some rough measurements and I think these are 8" x 16" fronts and 9" x 16" rears!!!

Probably the widest 16" that will fit the 308GTB without rubbing.
They were in fact used on my #22641 so I know for a fact "they fit"

I will post the tire sizes tomorrow..
    Good nght....

The wheels it came with! IMHO the HREs and the BBSs are too busy and distract from the lines of the 308! just sayin, Lost

I am too. I found a set of 16's but I'm missing 3 center caps. They're even harder to find than the wheels.

One cool thing that came with my set was a set of stud bolts, that convert the whole mounting system to conventional lug nuts.....:D :D

17" Compomotives! If you can find someone willing to part with them, buy them. They are fantastic looking. 17" wheels offer the best tire selections as well. Put some fat 235 front and 275's in the rear while you're at it. They bite like piranhas!
My half shafts are holding up great here in the rocky mountains!

Very nice Mark. How much do you want for your Compomotives? :)

The original wheels look right. 328 wheels at a push. Anything else looks awkward and plain wrong in my opinion. each to their own though. good luck.

Hmmmm. Everything has its price right? I lucked out and got mine from an Fchat member for about $2500 with everything - shipping/customs/etc. I think I lucked out big time.
For the amount of money it would take for me to part with mine, I would suggest the Carobu 17" RR308-17 ($4800) instead. They are the only wheels I think compare favorably to the Compomotives.
By the way, your car looks pretty sick as is if you ask me!

Agreed, you really hit the jackpot there. I am aware of Carobu's wheels but I think your Compo. looks sicker. I hope the phrase "good thing happens to those who waits" will happen to me as I really love those wheels.

Tex- Those BBS wheels were on the first 308 GTB Road & Track tested back in 1976 or so. The GTB was painted blue and the wheels were all silver, I think. Not optional, but added by a dealer.

Right, I have that road test too!
    Bob Bondurant at the wheel!!

Let me know, if you know anyone wanting a 1976 project car.

Runs, drives, needs paint and some love...

There is something decadent about gold wheels on a Ferrari IMO. I like the look of the gold bbs on dark blue ferraris. I think every now and then going to the gold bbs on my gt4 but at the end of the day I really like the comps or cromos being the original hardware.

Man, I am going too cheap!

These are perfect, not even a rim nick...a little dusting of the alloy centers so I'd paint them body color were I to keep them, which I might.

These are monster wide, as I measure maybe 8.5"W front, 9" W. rear??
    Not precise but close...

Gold was definitely an "in period" look, and of course most track cars bolted them up and off they went!
