Ok, so a burst water pipe led to other "while I'm at it" maintenance issues.
I might add, I would never attempted this by my lonesome, had it not been by the inspiration and very informative posts on this great forum!
Anyhow, I decided to replace a torn CV boot and have one boot I ordered from Superformance and a set of four Lobro Porsche/Ferrari boots from AutohausAZ. The latter seems a little more robust than the Superformance boot, but has a rubber 'ridge' at the large side. With some effort it fits over the flange but doesn't seat as well as the SP part.
Question is, did I purchase the wrong part, can they be used as is ,or should I order three more from SP or others?

As an aside, both flanges on the drivers drive shaft were deformed,I assume by contact with the shaft,[why?] is it OK to straighten them [as I have], or get replacements from SF?
    Thanks, Nick.

The flanges ar very soft. I straightned mine with a hammer and a large socket. No need to buy new ones as I see it.

I can't recall which of the two is entirely correct, but if they fit, run em. I would like to see a side by side of each if possible. Thanks for posting this!

My $.02 is that the bent flange is the result of an engine pull without disconnecting the half shafts from the engine end but only from the hub end. As suggested above a good method to reshape.

I'm not quite happy with the fit of the Porsche boot, but I'll take some other pics later and you'll be able to judge for yourself.

To my knowledge the engine has never been out, at least not in the last seventeen years of my custody. It was interesting to me that both inner and outer flange on the same shaft were distorted in a similar fashion. BTW, I've straighten both, will get them re-plated tomorrow:)

Someone has disconnected the shocks and allowed the suspension to drop down further than it should do. Very common.

This is the easiest solution. Whether you get just the boot or the flange as well, I would probably go with Porsche parts. Exactly the same and usually priced much more reasonably. Whether you reshape or replace flanges is up to you, it won't make any difference in function.

This. Happened to mine, ball peen hammer took care of it.
