2000 Ducati 748 $4,500

I am the second owner of this bike. It has about 15,000 miles on it and runs very well. Everything works including all gauges, etc. I've ridden it regularly since purchasing it in the spring of 2012. I love the bike, but think it's time to move onto something else.

Previous owner had maintenance done by a certified Ducati tech, or performed maintenance himself. I have records. I've only had to change oil once which was done by a certified Ducati tech at the local dealer. Only only maintenance by me described immediately below. Previous owner took off front turn signals, but I think I still have them. It comes with an Akaprovic exhaust and was chipped when the exhaust was put on by the previous owner. It sounds awesome. I have the original exhaust. It has a few carbon fiber pieces here and there such front and rear fenders and chain guard. It really looks great.

Right before putting her away for the winter last year (2013), I had an engine service done to remedy an issue where the engine was going weak at idle. Local Ducati dealer serviced it and replaced the fuel relays. Ran great afterwards during their test riding and when I took her home. She was then was put away for the winter. I also had new front and rear tires out on at that time. There's literally less than 30 miles on them.

Paint is near flawless, but for a couple of scratches on the lower left fairing. The day I bought the bike, a woman tried to back into me in a parking lot while I was rolling very slowly. I grabbed a little too much brake and ended up leaning over just enough to touch the left fairing at nearly a stop. Truthfully, more of the bike rested on my leg than the pavement. I'll send pics if anyone wants. Damage is really minimal and dealer quoted me $200 to re-spray the whole fairing. I never got it done since no one really ever notices it.

I regularly started and ran her in my garage to keep everything lubed up and in order during the winter. Just ran her for 30 minutes last night.

I don't need to sell, but will if I get a decent price for it. I'd rather sell privately than trade it in to the dealer when I figure out what I want to get next.

One amendment. I just realized I listed the bike as having 15k miles. It actually has 17k. I must have totally spaced when I wrote the ad.

It's only advertised here so I don't think it's going anywhere fast, Tex. let me know if you want any more info or pics.

Update:

The idle issue I mentioned in the ad returned about a week ago. I took it right over to the Duc dealer and had them reevaluate. I didn't update the ad last week because I wanted to see what was wrong and determine whether I should pull the ad or not.

Thankfully, it was a very easy and quick fix. Took the bike home this morning after a long and thorough ride. It ran great. Honestly the strongest since I've owned it. Here's a pic from service order detailing what was wrong and the fix done. I'll attach a pic of the bad spark plug so you can see what was causing my issue.

Yeah no luck so far, but to be honest, I haven't tried that hard.

I've only advertised it here and if it sells, great. If not, I'm stuck with a bike I love!
