so? What is wrong with other teams doing a better job? This is F1. Big manufacturers spending hundreds of millions of dollars to come out on top. So does Ferrari, but they are merely competitors. It is not that easy to win in Formula 1. Why should it be for Ferrari?

Yeah, I get that. I just don't subscribe to that notion. It is an easy thing to say on an internetforum, but it doesn't do the achievements of the people that are actually involved any justice. It is actually insulting.

Ferrari wasn't built on 3rd place finishes nor did they capture your imagination because of them.

He is TP of a team that is consistently out raced, out developed and out thought by at least one and on many occasions two more teams.

    That is not sustainable.

It's not about fair, its not about just, it's not about nice, its about winning.

Without that attitude a team will never cut it in the big leagues.

Ferrari is much more than succes in racing. Back in the day, Ferrari had their fair share of failed seasons. Both in Formula 1, both in sportscarracing. That comes with the business.

Everyone within the team has a desire to win and I am sure that they are hugely dissapointed that they haven't taken a championship since 2007 and that it took only three races to make it clear that it won't happen in 2014 either.

Question is, is that down to management? Is that down to any particular individual? It is oversimplyfing the problem by sacking the guy who is in charge, just because he is in charge. It won't solve anything. Replacing Domenicali with Horner won't get you a better car.

I have no debate regarding Schumacher, but you simply don't have two feet to stand on regarding Vettel. I like Seb when he's not crying like a spoilt child, but harmony and development are two different things.

It's clear that you don't care for Räikkönen, fair enough, you are entitled to your opinion and there are many who share it, but you are conveniently over simplifying his departure from Ferrari in 2009. Drastically.

Alonso apparently has a simulator in his house. I don't know how much more commitment do you want than that. I don't know if Kimi is still using it. The problem with Ferrari is technical. The were having wind tunnel issues with data that didn't match and all sorts of things. This doesn't have anything to do with the drivers and cannot be fixed by inserting a different driver. The fact is if Ferrari can't win the title with a prime Alonso and Kimi they can't win the title in this era of Formula One. They need to fix their engineering issues or the lack of performance will continue and get worse.

In current Formula 1, there is always one winner and ten loosers. Are that ten teammanagers that need to be sacked?

You do realize that most of the teams that don't win, have never won before, nor will they be the winner anytime soon. And for none of those teams, replacing the manager will present the solution. Things aren't that simple and every team in the paddock knows that.

Nobody knows if someone like Horner couldn't turn things around. Suggesting he couldn't is mere speculation.

It has been six years since Ferrari won the constructors. A good TP can identify weaknesses in a team and correct them. Ask yourself if you really believe SD has done just that during those six years under his leadership. Again, since 2009, 4th, 3rd, 3rd, 2nd, 3rd and now currently 5th.

In what way Dominicalli as a team principal develop a car?
He is an administrator, a manager who mostly control the budget of the team, and the operations on the track.

Is Dominicalli and engineer? a technician? an engine specialist? an aerodynamicist?

I am sure that Ferrari has a technical director, and an army of engineers and technicians who designed the car and put it together; that's not Dominicalli's job as I understand it.

Did Jean Todt, Ghedini, Lombardi, Cesare Fiorio, Nosetto, Audetto , or ...de Montezemolo who were all racing managers at Ferrari also developed cars? I have never heard of that!

A fish stinks from the head down. If you give a manager all the needed resources (including time) and he doesn't deliver he's out.
Your rationale excuses failure. Success is the exception to be sure but if you're in the game you aim to win.

If they are given monster budgets, time and still can't deliver then yes. Absolutely.

Any TP that is given time and doesn't meet expectations shouldn't expect mercy.

So? In F1 a drought of six years isn't all that bad. Williams haven't seen any particular succes since Villeneuve won for them in 1997. Yes, that is 1997. When was the last time mighty McLaren was seriously charging for a title? That is they way things go and now people have to be fired?

Domenicali has to be fired if he does a bad job. Just because Ferrari isn't winning whatever is to be won, does not mean he does a bad job. If it did, he would be out already.

He is the head of the snake. He manages ALL departments of a race team and the expectations are set accordingly.

If his engineers/techs/engine builders/aero, etc, etc continually fall short and he persists with them, then ultimately he shoulders the overall responsibility/blame.

Good managers identify and rectify problems. Do you believe SD has done that since 2008?

yea, because monsterbudget + time = worldchampionship

    if it were that simple....

whose expectations? Yours or of those that actually pay his salary?

My concern about the "Domenicali era" is that there is not a sense of "progression" that we had with Todt. In the mid 90s the results were worse than now, but each year was a bit better than the last one, so you knew that sooner or later success would come.

Now there is a mediocre season. The next one is a bit better and they miraculously get to the last race fighting for the championship... You´d expect that as they were quite close they´ll finally get it the next year, but then the season is mediocre again. I don´t know what to expect from these guys.

To be fair, this season Mercedes is outspending Ferrari in the engine area by a large margin, so maybe we couldn´t expect to beat them at the first try. Yet, if they can´t finish the season ahead of Red Bull and the Mercedes customers, some heads should roll. Of course, the boss is not guilty of all... But it´s cheaper to sack the coach than all the players.

Definately. The 2010, 2012 and 2013 cars were actually quite good. In 2013 the change in tires hurt Ferrari. Not something that we can blame Domenicali for, no matter how bad you want that.

Show me the last time Williams were funded in such a way that they could compete for a title. SD has no such excuse.

Mclaren have become so frustrated with their results that Ron Dennis is back trackside. Whitmarsh is nowhere to be seen. He didn't deliver the results expected of him.

I don't need to invent reasons/excuses for him to leave. I just have to look at his results.

    4th, 3rd, 3rd, 2nd, 3rd and currently 5th since their last winning season.

Those who pay his salary and didn't build a company on coming 3rd and the fans that buy into it.

Ask around your fellow Ferrari fans a very simple question. Do they expect Ferrari to finish 1st or 3rd?

Again, if you want to live under the assumption that things in F1 are so simple that a lack of winning should equal the sacking of the teammanager, than be my guest.
