Finished the European Bumper Conversion today. Managed to adapt the existing brackets & very pleased with the final result. A much cleaner line and much lighter. Gee those US bumpers are heavy! Restored the horn compressor interior! Sanded each vane and the chamber smooth with 320, 600, 800 grit. Also figured out that the stock horn is toast! Looks like the diaphragms have turned to dust! New trumpets incoming from Fiamm : )
Your car will be new. Yeah? Um, fired mine up after F1. My best friend/worst enemy and I took our cars for a whip through Schenley park. He has a Porsche. He loves my plastic cam gears. Dick. Anyway, beautiful day. Um, car is physically taxing at low speed. We got some thumbs ups and some single finger salutes. I swear we never sped. Cough... Lotta people (chicks in yoga pants) out. Got heckeled at the frats from balcony. OOOOOh! Ferrari!... Singletrack, when is that piece coming out?
Awesome! I was at Phipps with the wife and daughter - was a nice day. Yoga pants are my favorite thing since the wheel. You ever go to Whole Foods in Oakland? Hard to concentrate - lol! I'm at a crossroads. The car is ready to go (more or less), but do I delay another week or so to finish the new interior or do I throw the old interior in and drive? I think I have to get the new interior in, so that means 1-2 weeks still. : ( Didn't get nearly what I wanted to get done this winter!
Took her out for a drive this weekend. Wow. What a difference the caps & wires make. She idles soooo smooth now.
First weekend I've had a chance to work on my GT4 (purchased 18 days ago). Did some work on the L shape driver's side door trim that covers the bolts that secure the door card. They studs were a bit of a mess and the plastic frame is broken at one point.so I decided to cut them out, then epoxy resin an aluminium strip to the back of the plastic moulding with bolts covered in heat shrink wraps going into grommets as per Betascorpion's fanatastic thread. So that is half done. Also investigated non functioning nearside main beam headlamp. Took out the headlamp and checked bulb. That is fine. Fuses all fine. Ran out of time and had to put it back together again. Have now downloaded circuit diagrams to understand how it works. Next weekend I will check power to the lamp and earth link. New tools and stuff arriving. Can't wait to get under the car and start sorting some of the surface corrosion on chassis and suspension (not too bad!). Just not enough hours for everything.
Just a simple oil and oil filter change to get her going this year. Everything else seems to be fine.
Just replaced main fuel pipe from gas tank to fuel pump and the two short pipes at the bottom of the car that go from tank to tank. Also replaced all the rusted nuts on my cam covers with nice new chrome ones
Today I filled up the F430 with a gas that "not a Shell V Power" with a negative outcome Sent from my F430 using Tapatalk.
I finally picked mine up from the body shop, had rust repair done to both doors and lower sills painted body color. I wanted to take pics upon pick up, but it started to rain and wanted to get her in the garage. Will post pics when the weather clears up.
Oil change and filter with my buds at the nearby Jiffylube. I bring the oil and filter. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

One tire mounted and balanced...RF Changed plugs chasing a bad misfire, it ran good for ten minutes and then went downhill.. Added two quarts of Royal Purple but neglected to put the oilcap back in...lost it in the road somewhere. Went to add fresh gas, thinking that might fix the rough running, and the fuel door spill bib tore in half. So, for the day, different plugs made a difference but not for long, and I need to call TRutlands in the morning for some bits. Love these cars! Wish I knew the problem, big bucks on rebuild of carbs and distributors, but it sure feels like an ignition break up under throttle load...maybe crap gas??? The neighbors all stopped by to chat as I worked, as it lives under a cover and no one knew what it was!!
Wrestling trying to get the 4-wire rear spark plug wire holder into the valve cover. I lost the battle It will not go into the hole and after I shaved a smidge off the plug, the insert wont push down to secure the holder. There just isn't enough space to tap the plug down. And I AM NOT pulling the valve cover gasket just to put the clip in.
Removed the driver door card and took it home from where the GT4 lives so I can sort it out tomorrow prior to refxing on Sunday
