I have tried to do due dilligence by searching the forum but may have missed the answer. Perfectly fine running 01 spider, left key in on position and found car with dead battery a week or two later. Hooked to battery charger, 40 amps for 7-10 min then 2 am overnight. Car starts but most cylinders are not firing, it will not rev at all. Tried shutting off master battery switch, turning key and waiting for a minute or two but to no avail. What did I destroy?????? Thanks Ken
Never mind, got it solved.........left the key in for a while with ignition on, 1-2 minutes, all ran well!! Whew.
I was going to say "Don't Panic" but I see you didn't! Rough running is not uncommon after a power down and ECU reset.
What possessed you to leave the key in the ignition for a couple of minutes?? I would have never thought of that!
Turning on the ignition without doing anything else for a short while is part of the ECU reset procedure when, for example, you shut off the battery or fully discharge the battery. If you wish, you can read all the details in your owners manual. If you ever disconnect your battery, turn off the battery switch, or otherwise kill power completely you need to follow a certain simple procedure to get your car running properly again. A Ferrari is NOT a Chevy. I don't want to sound harsh, but READ THE MANUAL
Exactly. Don't feel bad, I have made that stupid mistake twice. That is why my Odyssey 925 only lasted 5 years or so.
